Celebrating Australian MSC certified endeavour prawns 🍤
The Ocean Pearl Wild Caught Endeavour Prawn season is in full swing and our dedicated team is busy at work in the Northern Prawn Fishery, sustainably harvesting some of the best-tasting wild caught prawns Australia has to offer. Sourced from the pristine waters of the Gulf of Carpentaria, these little crustaceans may not be the largest, but their remarkable flavour makes them a standout in the prawn world. Witness our hardworking Flinders Pearl crew in action, bringing the extraordinary taste of Endeavour Prawns from the ocean to your table! A special thanks to our team for their commitment to sustainable fishing practices and exceptional seafood quality. Always Wild, Always Delicious. #Raptis #OceanPearl #endeavourprawns #WildCaughtSeafood #australianwildprawns #msccertified #MSCecolabel #sustainablefishing

🌊 "Expect MORE from our leaders when it comes to climate action and ocean sustainability!" From the scenic capital of Tasmania, Professor Professor Gretta Pecl AM is leading the charge for ocean sustainability and adaptive marine management. Lead Councillor of the Biodiversity Council and Director of the University of Tasmania and CSIRO 's Centre for Marine Socioecology are just a few hats she wears. So it was a privilege for our MSC Oceania team to be 'In Conversation with' a Lead Author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change #IPCC assessment report (AR6) as well as one of Australia's leading marine ecologists. 🙌✨Here are our three takeaways from Anne Gabriel's QA with Professor Pecl: 1️⃣ Collaboration is key: Real change happens when we work together. From scientists to policymakers and communities, we all have a role in protecting our oceans and tackling climate change. 🌿 2️⃣ Hold leaders accountable: We must expect more from our leaders regarding climate action. Use your voice and vote for those who prioritize sustainability and the future of our planet. 💪 3️⃣ Stay hopeful: Climate work can be overwhelming, but there is hope in the passion and dedication of younger generations. Together, we can build a future that supports both people and the planet. 🌏 Read the complete Q&A: https://lnkd.in/g72TPF2u #CollaborationForChange #ExpectMoreFromLeaders #MarineScience #Sustainability #ClimateAction #ProtectOurOceans #FutureGenerations

🚨 New data shows that mackerel and Atlanto-Scandian stocks are plummeting! 🚨 As revealed by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) – the science organisation responsible for advising governments on sustainable catch levels - the catch of Atlanto-Scandian herring, blue whiting, and mackerel in 2023 again exceeded scientifically advised limits by 33%, 28%, and 35% respectively. These limits are recommended to ensure the long-term viability of these stocks and consistently overshooting them puts the health of the ocean, economies and livelihoods at risk. Now is the time for coastal states to agree on a lasting quota sharing deal for these key species that respects scientific limits to ensure the future health of these stocks. ➡️ Read more: bit.ly/3XRgqhh 🗣️ "The latest data on Atlanto-Scandian herring and mackerel shows a hugely worrying development. Governments must not delay in securing a much-needed quota sharing agreement that aligns with scientific advice and helps secure the health of these stocks for future generations," said Erin Priddle, Regional Director for MSC in Northern Europe. It’s time to protect these key stocks for future generations! #Sustainability #MarineConservation #Overfishing #FisheriesManagement #PelagicStocks #MSC
