As part of our partnership with the San Diego Padres, Special Olympics Southern California athlete, Chris Hurn threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Petco Park. Prior to the first pitch, the Padres provided a memorable experience for Chris's family & friends with a batting practice viewing on the field. Thank you to the Padres for a wonderful evening. Gallagher is proud to partner with the Padres and Special Olympics Southern California! #ProudPartner

With the Kentucky Derby happening this weekend, I thought it would be timely to review the 2009 race. As a 50-1 underdog, Mine That Bird won the race over the heavy favorites Dunkirk and Santa Anita at 4-1 odds each. No one gave Mine That Bird a chance and yet the horse won against all odds. So, you may be wondering, what does a horse race have in common with investing? You have the same odds at picking a 50-1 underdog correctly as picking a dominant stock! Since 1926, 2% of public companies have created 78% of the stock’s market value as of December 2022. This is why we invest in the entire stock market because being right is hard.

Last week at a luncheon, a few old mates (Denis Pagan, Dr Harry Unglik & Wayne Carey) of the North Melbourne FC 1996 Premiership Team gathered to celebrate Corey McKernan’s 50th birthday. The occasion turned into a journey through time, revisiting football victories, pivotal moments, fun times, resilience and the development of life principles forged over the past 25 years. Conversations shifted to nostalgic reflections as memories flowed, victories were recounted and the challenging times that have been life shaping. The parallels between past sporting principles and present-day realities became evident. The key messages that resonated were the importance of principles like accountability, discipline, hard work, belonging and the need for a vision. All proving to be pivotal for their success at the time. The notion of vision emerged as a significant aspect of this success and a driving force in sport, business and life. The celebration transformed into a living testament to the enduring nature of these principles, living philosophies which shaped their journeys. Corey's 50th became a tribute to the wisdom that binds them, a celebration of timeless lessons learned on the field and translating into life. #highperformance #teamsuccess #teamculture

Since 2017, our team at Easy Mile Fitness has prioritized Monthly Offsites for our +40 General Managers. With 90 meetings under our belt, these sessions may look a little bit different than the old days, but remain an important space for discussing the business, sharing best practices, and fostering team camaraderie. 📈💡🤝 While each of our Planet Fitness locations is unique, these Offsites allow the team to collaborate on how to address common challenges across the organization. By working together, we can brainstorm innovative ideas to enhance the experience for our ~300,000 members and the 50,000 daily visitors to our facilities. Despite our organization's growth and changes, the commitment to these team gatherings has never wavered. While no longer run by Philip Amato and myself, under the much more effective leadership of Mandi Castagnola and Keishla Tejedor Rodriguez these Offsites have only become a more important part of our business. Looking forward to many more great Offsites to come!👏 #TeamBuilding #Leadership #Collaboration #BusinessGrowth

Fasig-Tipton New York Bred Yearlings Sale – A Strong Start! The 2024 Fasig-Tipton New York Bred Yearlings sale kicked off on Sunday with impressive results, setting a strong tone for this year's auction. With an average sale price exceeding $100,000 and a notable decrease in the RNA rate, the first session showcased the quality and promise of New York-bred yearlings. Two standout colts—by Constitution and Vekoma—tied for the top price of $300,000, highlighting the strength of their pedigrees and the high level of interest from buyers. Both colts were consigned by leading sales agencies and were eagerly snapped up by established racing operations. The session saw 66 yearlings sell for a total of $6,860,000, marking a 14% increase from last year’s opening day. With an average of $103,939 and a median of $89,000, these figures underscore the continued confidence in the market. At Maximum Yield Bloodstock, we’re closely following these developments and are excited to see how today’s session unfolds. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to monitor the market and explore opportunities for our clients. #ThoroughbredSales #Bloodstock #HorseRacing #RacingExcellence #MaximumYieldBloodstock Fasig-Tipton
