Having had the pleasure of engaging with Jonathan Baines, Ian and Jeff at Pathogen Reduction Solutions Ltd for some time now - their technology is a genuine gamechanger when it comes to cleaning up the air in our buildings - and in doing so, significantly reducing the energy required to heat and cool those buildings also. I am utterly convinced it is only a matter of when, not if, PRS becomes essential in every multi-occupancy building; and the risk and insurance implications are far reaching. Do let me know if you would like to know more! Gallagher Specialty #prs #insurance #cleanair #property

“We spend 90% of our time indoors. Most of the outdoor air pollution we breathe happens inside[…] But if you have good levels of filtration and good building design, we can lower that burden,” says our director, Joseph Allen Last month at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health's The Studio event, experts came together to discuss the varying impacts of air pollution on brain health while also delving into current regulations and the latest research in this developing field. Thought-provoking discussion that really opened my eyes to the critical connection between the air we breathe and the health of our brain. It turns out that our exposure to air pollution is not just a matter of environmental concern but is intimately linked to the risk of cognitive decline and diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. More so, it’s startling to realize how such exposure also escalates the risks of anxiety and depression. The World Health Organization’s estimate is a wake-up call: nearly all of us, 99% of the global population, are breathing air laden with dangerous levels of pollutants. Experts in the field are sounding the alarm, sharing the latest research and advocating for policy shifts toward cleaner air for the sake of our mental and overall health. Reading about this discussion was a reminder of the urgency and importance of taking action against pollution—not just for the environment but for our cognitive wellbeing and mental health. It’s clear that improving air quality is an indispensable step toward safeguarding our future health and wellbeing. As we move forward, let’s lend our voices and efforts to the cause of cleaner air. It’s a vital investment in the health of our brains, our bodies, and our planet. #FJSafeSpace #AirQuality #AirPollution

A very important topic! Water and air pollution monitoring are crucial for protecting the environment and ensuring public health. Here's an overview of the importance of monitoring, types of pollutants: Why monitoring is important: 1.Public health: Air and water pollution can have serious health impacts, including respiratory problems, cancer, and other diseases. 2.Environmental damage: Pollution can harm ecosystems, destroy habitats, and disrupt the food chain. 3.Economic losses: Pollution can also result in significant economic losses due to damage to infrastructure, lost productivity, and decreased quality of life. So, we're in the process of creating a prototype and planning to produce it for the market. That's a crucial step in bringing our innovative idea to life.

Professors Philomena Bluyssen and atze boerstra joined forces with a global network of 37 fellow experts on the indoor #environment. Their collective paper, published in Science, calls for improved monitoring and regulating of Indoor Air Quality in #publicspaces. Indoor pollutants have major consequences for our long-term #health, and indoor air is also a prime transmitter of pathogens. This paper provides practical guidelines on pollutants to monitor, acceptable concentrations, and protective measures. Read more: https://lnkd.in/emPZkcVx
