Social workers have such a nested way of articulating encounters with the everyday, away from high altitude lens where so much of the socio-meter fields of lived experience can go unnoticed. Psychology as a field of inquiry made what I believe was a fatal error for knowledge in creating significance distance from the fields of sociology. In particular, Ireland's grasp of personal destiny trajectory in mental health has tended to follow the Americans, both psychiatry and psychology embedded their affinities in the late 19th Century and their movement back to sociology has been largely tokenism. Thus the tendency to view and psychometric measure people as made for multimodal measures, propelling these disciplines into exponential levels of profits. I have no problem with groups making massive gains, but I do have a problem when the pie ratios for representing what is happening in the everyday is too partial and removed from the world as it is. Its not unlike the glass half-empty/half full where our world is stratified as the Tale of Two Cities under Secular Roll of the Dice (eg the accidents of birth). Psychology and Psychiatry and Psychotherapy must change its gated dispositions for measuring traits. Cybernetics extends a bird's eye view into how people indoctrinate and moderate their groups as tacit approval/disapproval. Technosystems are more than valuable for shining a spotlight on how some get to broaden and build; what is initiated; what is desired and aspired to. The events of September 11th, 2001 impacted thousands of families in ways we can never forget. The trauma and loss from that day continue to echo in the lives of many.
