This is just to remind you guys (can't tag Mercy tho I followed them) that nobody from HR has called me back about the competency deficit in one of your doctors and the faulty original assignment to that doctor for me... It would be embarrassing to tell everyone what he did and I haven't tagged him yet. But I did talk to one of your HR resources and explain that I have retained a lawyer and I'm going to sue you guys big time as big as I can and I'm going to go find a bunch of people and I'm probably going to look for a class action... I don't want to do that. I would rather you guys understand the cost savings that I bring to the table... there is no need to send me to endless doctor appointments anymore. SoonerCare is a government program and I want to save it as much money as possible, while receiving accurate treatment. I need one PCP appointment per quarter, one medication, and one IV treatment, and braces for sleeping. You also knew that I had neurosurgery but you would not refer me to neuro for follow-up even though my follow-up is overdue because that doctor does not accept my insurance. I have the right to reject treatment. I also have the right to sue you because you did not refer me to any doctor that can actually help me and then you kicked me out of your care. I still have not filled out the negative feedback for that doctor at all because I didn't want him to get in trouble because it's not his fault.... he is restricted by his own training to have confidence in himself. If that doctor's office called me and expressed the misunderstanding by the doctor and their ability to trust their own competency.... I would even go back to that doctor. Y'all can skip the shame of apology. I also realize that I have the right to make a big o sign and to sit my ass in front of your hospital.... and my temperature intolerance issues are remediated by the springtime. My direct line is 817-344-9125. As of 5/6/24 there will be no voicemail... y'all somehow service people with no phone. If I don't get your call, please indicate here what the reply number is. I formally release you of any efforts that you are making to ensure my right to privacy. You can release all of my PII as necessary. In fact you can also release all of my health records out here in the public or anywhere you want. https://lnkd.in/g2Xm9iUA
Spreading joy, one volunteer at a time! Join us in celebrating the incredible individuals who dedicate their time to making a difference in our patients' and families' lives. #VolunteerAppreciationWeek

What doesn't show on my resume- The amount of research, time, effort, and experience that's required to effectively run a non-profit instagram focusing on health and educational resources for Pacific Islanders in Utah. It is more difficult than other types of social media accounts because our target audience is very niche. Google "Pacific Islander" and see what comes up and you'll understand why trying to promote and get nonprofit health resources to our community online is a challenge. We have used word of mouth, collaborations, specialized and bilingual content, and more to help accomplish our grassroots objectives. https://lnkd.in/gS5CP8NC

Just a reminder, April is filled with a lot of celebrations and National days/weeks. Two of my favorites are National Volunteer Month and National Volunteer Appreciation Week. This is the time for us individually to get involved (if we aren't already) in something that positively impacts our communities at large. This is also the highlighted time for organizations to honor and celebrate the hard work and dedication of their volunteers. May your organization have 5 volunteers or thousands serving your mission and clients daily, recognition of their commitment to serve also helps in retaining them. So remember to spend extra time this month to acknowledge your volunteers. They are more than just a number in your reports. They are people who chose to make a difference through your organization. And whether they are with you for one day, one month, one season, one year, or more... they deserve recognition. Many of our programs, organizations, institutions, and the like would truly be nothing without our volunteers. Remember those 3 R's of Volunteer Management: Recruitment, Retention, Recognition (and Relationships)! #thankavolunteer #nationalvolunteermonth #volunteers #volunteermanagement #recognition #retention

A bit of a late post, but I have to shout out the 30+ folks who attended our Big Reveal Event at the Deaconess Center for Child Well-Being! In case you missed it - Transform 314 implemented a campaign from August - October 2023 to help shape our 2024 advocacy priorities. We obtained feedback through surveys and Community Conversations. While we were open to hearing from ALL St. Louisans, we were intentionally working to engage a group that historically is not engaged in collective advocacy efforts - Black St. Louisans under the age of 45. 66% of the 488 participants that completed the survey identified as Black, with a majority of participants identifying as being under the age of 45 The top 5 issues Black participants expressed they were willing to advocate for were: #5: Increasing input on how money is spent in your community #4: Improving street safety #3: Improving access to quality and affordable food #2: Improving access to healthy and affordable housing AND addressing vacancy #1: Improving streets, sidewalks, lighting, etc. So...what's next? In 2024, Transform 314 will be advocating for improving the infrastructure in the City of St. Louis. We will work on this effort monthly at our Community Meetups, with the first one on Wednesday, Jan. 10th at 6pm at High Low (3301 Washington Ave - 63103). Across the community, sport and voluntary sector the enormous value of people giving their time to help others, without pay, is generally accepted to be of huge benefit. But so often this vital contribution can be difficult to accurately quantify and as a result can often be inadequately recognised. This #Volunteersweek we salute all those organisations - such as Sporting Communities - using good MEL practice to evidence the role played by volunteers. The Upshot system has always been developed to help organisations track volunteering, monitor volunteers and tell stories of the impactful contribution volunteers make in the sector. #happyvolunteersweek #makeadifference #impact
🌟 Happy Volunteer Week! 🌟 🙌 Today, we're taking a moment to celebrate the unsung heroes who selflessly dedicate their time, energy, and passion to make a difference in our communities. Whether it's lending a helping hand, mentoring the next generation, or simply spreading kindness wherever they go, volunteers truly embody the spirit of generosity and compassion. 👏 To all volunteers, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable contributions. Thank you for inspiring us all to be the change we wish to see in the world. 💙 This year marks the 40th anniversary of the campaign! Let's continue to uplift, support, and recognize the incredible work of volunteers not just this week, but every day. Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate world for all. #VolunteerWeek #ThankYouVolunteers 🌍✨

I’ve got a house full of books, an office full of bookshelves, and 3 library memberships. I listen to book related podcasts. I even have a tattoo of a stack of books. I’ll be a diehard reader until the day I die. .. but even I will acknowledge that some things can’t be taught or learnt through reading and writing. Advocacy is one of them. At risk of this sounding like a real LinkedIn-y post, I was fortunate enough to do the Industrial Relations Society of Vic’s Advocacy course over the last few weeks. It’s an incredible course run by two extremely experienced IR veterans, Chris O’Grady KC and Brian Lacy, which culminates in the participants running mock hearings at the Fair Work Commission. Commissioners volunteer their time on Saturdays to preside over these hearings, giving feedback and insight into the way they run and consider matters that come before them. It was incredible. So helpful, and so interesting. Particularly for things like conciliations, which are generally held by phone and are of course confidential. There’s no transcript or decision to trawl for nuggets of wisdom. I know how I run them, and how the people I’ve worked with run them. But watching and learning from others, with commentary and debriefs from Commissioners and experienced counsel, is the kind of insight that you just can’t otherwise get. A lot of my job is really helping people to stay out of the Commission, but sometimes it can’t be helped. And for those times, this course was a great boost. Absolutely worth re-scheduling a holiday for, and if you play in this space, worth checking out!
Presenting: our new cohort of IRSV Advocacy Course graduates! We are enormously grateful to our volunteer FWC Commissioners: Nicholas Wilson, Leigh Johns OAM, Susie Allison, and Oanh Thi Tran for presiding over our mock hearings over the last two weekends. We are just as indebted to our volunteer witnesses for putting our budding advocates through their paces from the witness box: Niki Howells-Schramm, Lisa Anne Alcock, Reza Azimi, Peta Robinson, Nicole O’Reilly, Peter Lardner, Luke Rose, and Sally Williams. Last and certainly not least - Thank you Chris O'Grady KC and Brian Lacy for yet again sharing your knowledge and expertise for the betterment of our IR community in Victoria.

Although I LOVE talking, if there's one topic I am qualified for (or so I like to believe) and get invited to speak on is volunteering ;-) One of my highlights of working with volunteers is the power of reflection - asking the right questions, creating space, and digging deeper beyond the surface - can transform a simple activity into a life-altering experience. Among other things, for volunteers, it means becoming better doers; for volunteer engagers, it means becoming a better listener. For volunteers it could result in a serious commitment to volunteering; for the engagers, it can redefine their relationship with the work and its impact. For both, it could fundamentally alter their view of the world, its challenges, and what they can DO about it. :-) Join me and other folks from the volunteering ecosystem for a webinar this week. If you're a pro at reflections, then still consider dropping by, saying hello, and telling me how my beard looks! Link to register: https://lnkd.in/dfH3_mHD
