Excelerate Energy is best known for floating regasification storage units but this latest addition to Vietnam's LNG infrastructure would be an on-shore terminal. To be completed in two phases, the Northern Vietnam LNG Terminal is expected to have an initial capacity of 0.7 million tonnes per annum, with eventual expansion to 1.2 million mtpa. LNG imports, which only started in Vietnam last year, are expected to make up nearly 15% of the energy mix by 2030 as the country looks to reduce its reliance on coal for power generation. ------------------------------------------------------ 💡 We are the voice of the gas industry in Asia 📖 Follow us for insights, data and policy on the pathway to a reliable, low-carbon energy future #lng #naturalgas #energysecurity #energytransition #decarbonisation #decarbonization

usd 11/mmbtu is about 14% x Brent. When Japan started their point-to-point delivery program in beginning 70's based on 14+% of JCC because LNG was meant to replace oil. Brent slope needs to be lower today in order to trigger coal-to-LNG replacement. That was my point.

Indonesia’s ambitions of reviving its upstream gas sector are bearing fruit, especially as Eni’s Kutei Basin gas hub plans recently reached another key milestone. But reversing the previous decline in output will take time, which combined with swelling domestic demand will continue to impinge on the country’s LNG export capabilities. “Competing demand for natural gas in the domestic market will continue to present feedgas supply challenges for LNG production” said consultancy BMI Country Risk & Industry Analysis. #energy #energynews #oilandgas #LNG https://lnkd.in/e5NnCJrG

In addition, we plan to introduce e-methane, a synthetic gas that allows our LNG business to seamlessly transition from fossil-based natural gas to carbon-neutral gas. Our ongoing development of methanation technologies aims to produce e-methane from recycled CO2 and hydrogen,” said Takenori Fujita, Executive Officer and Senior General Manager of LNG Trading Dept., Energy Resources and International Business Unit at Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. #lng #lngbunkering #emethane #alternativefuel #shipping #decarbonization Read more: https://lnkd.in/dSV8VSwt

Turkiye entered a major agreement with the Energy giant Shell on 2nd September 2024 to provide billions of cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Under the agreement, Shell will supply the country with four billion cubic meters of LNG annually from 2027 to 2037. The LNG will be utilized for both domestic consumption and re-export. With recent gas discoveries in the Black Sea and a quickly-advancing gas and oil redistribution infrastructure, Ankara is emerging as a major player in the energy market, though it remains a net importer. Turkiye’s LNG demand is expected to rise alongside its population growth, but the deal with Shell would cover a significant eight percent of its current gas needs. #Turkiye #lng #lngshipping #shell #energysecurity #blacksea
