What's happening in the social media world?📲 Here are a few of the latest updates: - Instagram is testing a "Friend Map" feature, which will allow users to tag their location, add notes, and see where their friends are. This is similar to Snapchat's "Snap Maps." - Tiktok is teaming up with Warner Bros to bring a new "Spotlight" feature to the app that will help users to discover movies and TV shows. This will highlight select titles where users will be directed to a landing page with more details about the show or movie. This will include short-form content form creators. - Threads is testing disappearing posts. These threads will disappear after 24 hours (and so will its replies). - YouTube is introducing features that will be provided to those with a subscription. One of those features includes the ability to automatically jump to the good or most useful parts of a video. This is done with the use of AI and viewership data. Which platform's updates stick out the most to you? I'm personally interested to see how Instagram's "Friend Map" feature will be incorporated. #socialmedia #socialmedianews

Despite recent legislation, TikTok isn't going anywhere - there's rumors of TikTok creating their own algo and data center for a US audience. What does this mean? Well, I'd still recommend figuring out a strategy around Vertical Assets since they should already be a part of your marketing mix with YouTube shorts and Meta ads... and consider adding TikTok into that mix if your demographic is there (and hint, they probably are). How TikTok Collects User Data 600X Faster Than YouTube To Supercharge Its Algorithm: New research reveals that TikTok's short video format allows it to collect user data up to 600 times faster than YouTube, turbocharging its algorithm. The platform's design enables rapid data collection, with users engaging with content in short bursts. This frequent interaction provides valuable insights into user interests and preferences. TikTok's algorithm exploits user interests in 30% to 50% of recommendation videos, aiming to infer better user interests or maximize user retention. The platform's mobile-first design and years of data and development experience give it an edge over rivals like Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Additionally, TikTok's public user groups via hashtags allow for effective learning about its users' behavior and interests. The rapid data collection is part of why ByteDance values algorithms as core to operations. 👉🏼 Read the full story by clicking here: https://lnkd.in/gjjHazik #InfluencerMarketing #Influencer #TikTok

According to a forecast, by 2025, US adults are expected to invest more time on TikTok than on Facebook—a significant shift in user behavior. This positions TikTok as the future social media platform leader in total daily minutes. Yet, ad revenue is still dominated by Facebook and is estimated to get over five times more revenue per person per hour compared to TikTok. I see Tiktok having untapped potential for brands and will be interesting to see how next few years will play out from that point of view. I talk about AI & branding on Tiktok as 📲CMO Elina #tiktok #adspend #socialmediamarketing #cmo #cmoinsights

📉 Why Facebook is Losing Ground to TikTok 📈 In today’s fast-evolving digital landscape, TikTok is quickly overtaking Facebook in popularity. Here’s why: 🔹 Engaging Content: TikTok’s short, dynamic videos captivate users with quick, entertaining content, keeping them hooked for longer. 🔹 Youth Appeal: Younger audiences are flocking to TikTok for its vibrant, trend-driven experience, while Facebook’s user base skews older. 🔹 Algorithm Efficiency: TikTok’s algorithm personalizes content exceptionally well, offering a highly engaging and tailored user experience. 🔹 Privacy Concerns: Facebook’s history of privacy issues has driven many to explore platforms with perceived better data security. 🔹 Simplicity vs. Clutter: TikTok’s focused, streamlined approach contrasts with Facebook’s diverse and sometimes overwhelming array of features. Adapting to these shifts is crucial for staying relevant in the digital space. Let’s keep an eye on these trends and continue innovating! #SocialMedia #MarketingTrends #TikTok #Facebook #DigitalStrategy

So you think your brand is organically trending on TikTok based on your awesome content? Think again!😱 TikTok decides, much like casinos, who wins and who does not. ..."the existence of a "heating tool" that TikTok employees use to push videos from select accounts into millions of viewers' feeds" evidences their influence over who gets views, which brands get the best exposure, based on how they they advertise, or will advertise, when they see how "successful" they are... A good article to read for any metric obsessed advertisers)... So what does a real, private and fair digital relationship look like?🤔 Is there any platform that can be trusted to facilitate a valued relationship that does not interfere and certainly does not cheat brands or people? Yes! 🎉that platform is Profila - a new-era data relationship platform built for people, used by brands, with zero surveillance and 0.0% nudging algorithms. If you choose to build a relationship with a brand, you get a private space to enjoy the content they share, if you dont want to see too much content, you filter the volume of posts allowed into your space. Profila is you and its yours to control. #profila #privacybydesign #adtech #customerexperience #zeroknowledgetoken https://lnkd.in/dGYABnw4
