★ Do you want more business from LinkedIn? ★LinkedIn Expert working with you to create a powerful 1st impression & leverage it to get more leads ★LinkedIn: the trusted social platform ★Samaritan & Mental Health advocate★
Positioning. You may be the best at what you do. But if you don't position yourself as the best, in the right way... Someone not as good as you will position themselves as the best at what you do! It's an area where lots of businesses go wrong. It's an area where many businesses can't charge what they are worth because they don't position themselves as being worth it. I position myself by giving: ✅ Giving advice through my posts. ✅ Giving advice through networking presentations. ✅ Giving advice through speaking - I'm running a free workshop at SURREY BUSINESS EXPO on Wednesday this week ✅ Giving advice free to local charities Even more powerful is other, trusted people positioning you. I don't run a LinkedIn Local group. As a LinkedIn coach, I felt it would put people off attending. They would fear having my services pitched to them. I attend a couple of groups regularly. The organisers introduce me and ask me to give my LinkedIn tip of the day. They position me as the expert. A few years ago I spoke at an entrepreneurs' conference and was introduced, and positioned, by the host. The video below is that introduction. You can see the full video in my new LinkedIn newsletter here: https://lnkd.in/eTz_hBSq Your LinkedIn profile is a key part of your positioning. How does your's stack up? #LeadGeneration #SocialSelling #LinkedInMarketing

The only ship that doesn’t sail is a partnership. I’ve heard these exact words ☝️on more than one occasion. While there’s no doubt that having a business partner or co-launching an offer is more complex than flying solo, there’s plenty of potential upside (if you do it right). I’ve co-launched… → a social media product for marketers with Julia Block Pearson (after years of collaborating on marketing projects we decided to co-launch an offer) → a Strategic Fundraising Plan for nonprofits with Jon DeLange ⚡️ (after shooting the breeze in LinkedIn DMs turned into teaming up to help more charities) →A Website in a Day Workshop with Joel Eschenbach (after connecting over our shared love of Crumbl Cookies and slick, StoryBranded websites at a conference a few years back) Here are a few lessons I’ve learned from co-launching these 3 unique offers over the past 4 years. 1. Everyone involved should have a default toward innovation. 2. Launch something, even if it’s not perfect, before you’re ready. (can thank Julia for that one) 3. The work on any given day is rarely equal, but the shared workload over the long haul should be fair. 4. Commit to a shared goal. Partnerships that aren’t actively tackling the next big thing together often break down or fizzle out. 5. Ease the pressure on a partnership (when possible) by making it a shared side hustle at first. The stakes are always higher if all parties involved are relying on a launch to live off of. Any tips you’d add to the list?

🎙️The Original Unfounder™️ 🍕Head of Sales at La Fauxmagerie & Purezza 🧀 🌱 | Challenger Brand Champion 🏆 | "The Most Positive Person in FMCG" ✨ |
🍞 🍓 If you’re heading to Bread & Jam tomorrow - here are my top tips to maximise your day 👇🏻 (Also who's coming?) Who else is buzzing for this years Bread & Jam festival? 🙋♂️ Sadly I can only make tomorrow. But I’m packing as much in as possible as always! It’s my honour and pleasure to be compering 2 of the Leaders Lecture Keynote talks. Plus on a panel myself 🕺 First up with Guy Tullberg of epic condiment brand The Tracklement Company Limited | B Corp with his 5 key learnings to take over the world of specialities at 13:30 And then the unstoppable mother & daughter combo Maxine & Darcy Laceby from Absolute Collagen talking about keeping it in the family & creating a £30m business at 14:30 My panel is all about learning to thrive after failure alongisde Kris Ingham & Paul Rostand taking place at 5pm (right before exhibitor drinks 🍻 👀). If it’s your first time going - here are my top tips to make the most of the day: 1️⃣ Plan Your Day! 📔 There is SO much to see & do, from talks, pitching slots, tasting panels, an epic marketplace raising money for charity, lots of companies exhibiting with stands - & so much more! Easiest way is to download the show guide and see what talks you can’t miss (aka the one at 5pm 😘) then allow space for the rest! 2️⃣ - Get Involved 👏🏻 You get out what you put in. It may feel scary / overwhelming, but aim to have at least one new conversation with someone you don’t know! (If we haven’t met, come say hi to me! 👋🏻) 3️⃣ - Nail Your Elevator Pitch 🗣️ There will be hundreds of people in the room, small talk is going to happen & it WILL be about your business. In 10 seconds, can you answer: what do you do / what is your business? 4️⃣ - Ask That Question 🙋♂️ This is always my go-to move in a talk when it comes to a Q&A 😏 It gets your voice into the conversation & challenges you to speak up in front of the room. I can almost guarantee that your question is not stupid & others will wonder the exact same thing. 5️⃣ - Follow Up & Expand Your Network! At the event, at the post event drinks, on your journey home or the next day, be sure to connect or follow those people on LinkedIn! This year looks bigger and better than ever! Amazing work by Jason, Tara, Kay, Sarah, Rachel, Jacob and everyone else working behind the scenes to pull this off! Who's coming!!!?

Something is better than nothing. Not always. 👎 Those little 'somethings' can be diverting your time and effort from the bigger opportunities. 💰 Charities are hard wired to be grateful for everything you receive. Your natural instinct is to say yes. 🤩 Sure, if you’re starting from ground zero, there is some trial and error before you hit your stride. You may try kissing a lot of frogs, but not all of them turn into a handsome prince. Sometimes they’re just a slimy amphibian with a lingering taste of pond weed. 🐸 💋 Your time and resources are precious. Prioritise your prospects using three simple lenses: Alignment Is there a natural fit between your organisations? It might be a shared audience, likeminded values or a similar core business interest. If should make sense without having to write a thesis to explain why you’re in partnership. Affinity What’s the level of connection between your organisations? Do you have access to the CEO or decision maker? Or maybe you’re languishing with the junior marketing officer who’s trying to get their leadership excited about the partnership. You are looking for support at the highest level and across multiple touch points. Great if you’ve got a champion in your corporate prospect, but not great if they’re the only one. If they leave, your partnership falls over. Potential value Many partnerships start with program funding, but it leaves you little left to cover your costs. You can unlock much bigger value by thinking about the size of the corporate’s pain points or ambitions and how you can help with those. Then you’ll tap into bigger budgets and build out the partnership across multiple activities. Resist the temptation to say yes to every passing frog with a twinkle in his eye. 😉 Prioritise your effort and focus on the opportunities that are the best fit for you. #partnerships #opportunities #prioritise How many frogs do you have in your partnership pond right now? 🐸

Board Certified Coach for Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs | Certified Professional Resume Writer | Career Coach | Entrepreneurship Coach | Small Business Owner
Small business owners, do you belong to your local Chamber of Commerce? I’ve been involved with chambers of commerce for a number of years as a business leader, and I know how much they impact the success of the local business community. When I opened my own businesses, it was a no-brainer to join my local chamber! Here are just a few of the benefits that I’ve realized through active participation in my local chamber: - Connectivity. Owning your own business can be lonely sometimes when you’re consumed with the day-to-day operations. I’ve connected with wonderful resources, made new friends and learned A LOT from other business owners. - Community. Networking is paramount when you lead or own a business. It is a non-negotiable in my opinion. By networking with other business leaders, I’ve learned about important causes in the community, identified opportunities to support local non-profits, and gained a better understanding of what’s important to the enhancement, safety and sustainability of our area. - Cultivation. Chambers provide many avenues for members to showcase and grow their businesses. One of my favorites is the ribbon cutting ceremonies! There’s just no better feeling than making your business official with a ribbon cutting. There are also many ways to share your subject matter expertise through sponsorships, speaking opportunities, volunteerism and social events. If you own a small business, I definitely encourage you to explore your local chamber. You may be surprised by the multitude of resources available to you! #motivationmonday #smallbusinessowner #entrepreneur #solopreneur #chamberofcommerce
