3/7/24 Update: SHE DID IT!! 💪 Cole sailed into Spain in the early morning hours today! Fun fact: Cole's boat is named First Light, and she intentionally slowed down her pace to come in at "first light", versus darkness, in honor of her trusted partner that brought her safely back to shore. Original post: Things I'm learning from Cole Brauer: 1. Sometimes growth happens in the tightest spaces. 2. Making room for the softer parts of life (like fleece blankets) allows you the comfort to be human, even if it means they take up space. 3. Be yourself, you don't need to be anyone else. 4. Connection (even from afar )makes you stronger. 5. Winds and waves will happen. Allow yourself to scream, cry and be frustrated. And then...get back on course. 💪 Read below for more about how Cole is about to be the first American female to complete a solo sail around the world! #gocolego!

MONTY LAW - The Series Episode Fifteen - Revelation Bowl San Miguel County Sheriff’s Department Incident Report: We have a report of a missing deputy. Been gone for about two decades, so finding him might be tough. Storyline – Secrets. Everybody keeps secrets. Some are small, insignificant, and inconsequential. Others, when revealed, will create the equivalent of a back country avalanche, taking down everything in its wake. Very rarely do secrets remain concealed for long periods of time. People let down their guard or can be persuaded to violate a confidence. A bold revelation has consequences and can be a life-altering event. High above the ski resort is one of the most magnificent back country skiing experiences. Revelation Bowl, part of the Telluride Ski Resort, is a remote and truly majestic black diamond ski run. In the summer, it is a spectacular hike. This is the setting. Monty and his crew will witness the revelation of several long kept and festering secrets. Hopefully, clarity and calm will ensue. But this is the Colorado High Country, and that is rarely possible. #Telluride #Telski #Colorado #MountainVillageColorado

🚶♀️ 🚠 Hike Up. Gondola Down. Repeat. 🚶♀️ 🚠 Let's talk #ElevationEverest. 🗻 We didn't know the first thing about "Everesting" training until our friends Alex, Daniel, Kayla, and Paul reached out. But we certainly understand event strategy and are flattered to join the team. The first-ever event, The Half Everest, will take place on September 28, 2024, at Winter Park Resort t. Athletes can compete solo or as part of a relay team to climb half the elevation of Mt. Everest by hiking up the mountain, riding the gondola down, and repeating until they reach 14,516 ft. Celebrate in between laps and at the finish line with music, activities, and more at Base Camp. HIKE UP: Each lap up the mountain is ~1,500 ft of elevation gain and 1.9 miles long. GONDOLA DOWN: Once you reach the top, ride the gondola down to start your next lap or switch out with a team member. REPEAT: Teams and solo athletes will have 17 hours to climb the mountain a total of 10 times - accumulating 14,516 ft in elevation gain over 19 miles. Here's where it gets fun: I (Mike) opened my mouth and decided to enter a team. We have two spots left. Interested in joining? Our treat (and we consider our team quite recreational and non-competitive). Let us know in the comments if you'd like to join our relay team. After ChatGPT is done writing this post I'm going to ask it how to train for a Half-Everest. Learn more: Elevation Everest

Week 3 of Joy Runs. Finding my groove. Extreme product-market fit is said to have 3 components: 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆. Efficiency is the least sexy so it often gets overlooked. However, if you don't build it in from the start your business or side-project ends up consuming more hours and money than it should. We've all been there! That's why I've made it my mission for Joy Runs to stay simple and run off 4 desk hours and $10 per week. So, how's it going? I'm currently at 5 hours. Here's the breakdown: • Weekly newsletter: 20 minutes (via Beehiiv) • Article publishing: 40 minutes (via Elementor editor) • Content creation: 3 hours (via Elementor editor, Canva, Semrush's free tools & user-generated content) • Social media mgt: 1 hour • Everything else: Automated Wherever possible everything is working off repeatable formats or automated, although I do get a lot of joy from interacting with the (still small) community and writing up my own experiences of each running theme. I'll do another round-up of costs soon, but all in all Joy Runs is running on $50 per month, including the initial website development and ongoing hosting via Elementor. To paraphrase Peter White, ruthless simplicity doesn't just make a product easier to build and manage, it also makes it more irresistible and lovable to users.
This week Joy Runners are #running to a theme of 'Water' 🌊 💦 Wonder where it'll take them. By bendy rivers, streams, sea, lake loops, rock pools, even embracing a cathartic run in the rain 🌧️ Here's a stunning double rainbow I saw on mine...
