Here's the gist: - VCs want to intro A+ talent to portcos - Portcos want intros to A+ talent - A+ talent want to be intro'd to great companies The process today is full of dropped balls and friction. We're fixing all that with this new feature. How it works: 1. VCs invite candidates to create a private profile 2. VCs privately share candidate lists with portcos 3. Portcos request intros to candidates 4. Candidates request intros to portcos 5. Everything is double-opt-in, logged and measured We were fortunate to partner closely with talent pros Cassie Chao Leemans and Mikelle Masciantonio to design the product to meet the needs of candidates, hiring managers, and talent teams. A common mistake we see entrepreneurs/CEOs make is assuming that because they have two or three candidates at the end of the process, they have to go with one of them, even if none of them are great candidates for the role. Often it’s the sense that you’ve sunk so much time into this process, you’d rather go with someone you’re not super excited about than start from scratch again. Sunk cost fallacy, made even worse if you’ve stopped sourcing for the role a while ago and have no one else in the pipeline. Your goal is to hire the best possible person for the job. If that person is not one of the final shortlisted candidates, it makes way more sense to start again. Do yourself a favour and don’t stop the sourcing/interview process until you have someone in the role. Great hiring managers never stop looking for top talent. #hiring

I have made a lot of new connections so I thought I would reintroduce Imperium People and what it stands for..... Believe it or not – when I started Imperium People in May 2021, it was not the first time that I had heard of or dealt with Rec2Rec’s – Shock Horror!! I often hear a lot from my candidates that they have had bad experiences with recruiters and this something that I understand because so have I!!! While looking for work during the pandemic, I approached a former colleague of mine (who I now recruit for!) and they weren’t hiring at that stage. What shocked me the most was that they had already received my CV from a Rec2Rec without my permission! I was outraged because it was my personal brand that they had damaged without my knowing. It made me think, do Rec2Rec’s really know their clients or are they just spraying and praying? Now there are some fantastic recruiters out there and some I still work collaboratively with but have you ever found that you will speak to a recruiter and they will just send a list of companies? This is why I set out to make Imperium people different! I actually only work with companies who I have worked for or with their staff!
