Sitting in another planning meeting, wondering if you have the bandwidth to listen to Dave talk about 'circling back' or 'synergy' one more time? Now would be a great time to be a disability advocate! It's as simple as asking a question - have we considered accessibility/disability while in this planning process? Offering examples of the different type of accessibility that are applicable to this planning - physical (ramps, automatic doors), digital (websites, apps, social media), communication (alternate format documents, alternate forms of training) as a few examples - can jump start the discussion!

The Department of Justice (DOJ) recently issued a final rule updating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ensure accessibility of all government content. What does this mean for your government agency? All web content and mobile apps must now be accessible to people with disabilities. The new rule might be a wake-up call, but it's also an opportunity for positive change, as Dave O'Reilly, our COO at @CivicPlus, explains in this GovTech article. Dave says it’s an opportunity for government agencies to build trust and engagement with their residents. 👥 What do you think? #LocalGovernment #WebAccessibility #DigitalExperience https://lnkd.in/eS8xxdyA
