Some bits of information: - Japan is opening up to the West, specially during the last 4-5 years, where there has been a clear goal from the government. - teambuilding within the Japanese companies, but also with Japanese companies, is often happening in the pub... - the right communication is the key, taking into account the cultural aspects! This is not a post for you to do our survey. ... ... ... l lied, it is. Hear me out though. I got inducted into a heritage programme organised by NUS and TF-SCALE, created to enlighten students on Singapore's deep, cultural roots, and how much historical data has been recorded and lost over the years. There were many interesting anecdotes, like how Singapore has had over 2000 years of history, which l still find it hard to believe. Beyond just learning about our past, another reason for this joint endeavor is applying our new-found knowledge to create solutions that are fun and engaging for future generations. That's where we come in. We'd like you to give us your input regarding heritage, and how can we modernise it to making history exciting. I know that we don't like doing surveys (especially me) but your help would REALLY help us out with our ideation, since we're actually bringing this to implementation. As day 3 of the Singapore Maritime Week draws to a close and I reflect on the many people I met and conversations I had. I can't help but stop and reflect on what it is that makes and keeps Singapore as the world's leading maritime city and in many ways one of the worlds leading city-states. Its just Mid-April and already so much is happening that directly or indirectly impacts the global maritime industry, travel industry and us here on our little red dot. Ongoing and Escalating conflicts in various parts of the world, Piracy, Maritime-Airline Incidents - Accidents, economic competition and geo-political jostling for power. And if all this weren't enough we are heading into election season across major countries in the world. While all of this is happening globally, at home we will be witnessing a significant milestone, the peaceful passing of the baton from PM Lee Hsien Loong to DPM Lawrence Wong. Singapore, under the visionary leadership of its late founding PM and MM Lee Kuan Yew, former PM Goh Chok Tong and for the last 20yrs PM Lee Hsien Loong, has established itself as a catalyst for innovation and an incubator and launch pad for talent and ideas. Trust, Credibility and Consistency over decades is what has laid the foundation for the stability, peace and prosperity we enjoy today. Singapore's people will always be the glue keeping her united and the sustainable fuel propelling her to new heights. [although we need to work on the sustainable part with our very low TFR 😉] Nothing is permanent - change is the only constant, so let's continue to raise the bar and keep the Singapore flag flying high.
