The HR Functions The difference between HR Admin/Coordinator and HR Generalist. Although they both look similar, they differ in scope and focus: This is for those who would like to know the difference between these roles. HR Coordinator: They primarily focus on Operational and Administrative support within the HR department. Their Responsibilities: Managing HR processes such as recruitment scheduling, onboarding, benefits administration, maintaining employee records, and coordinating HR events. Tasks: Scheduling interviews and coordinating with candidates. Handling paperwork and data entry for employee records. Assisting with benefits enrollment and administration. Organizing training sessions and HR events. Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in administrative tasks. While on the other hand, HR Generalist primarily focuses on various HR functions and strategic support. Main Responsibilities: Overseeing multiple HR areas including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and training. Tasks: Managing the full recruitment process, from job postings to hiring. Addressing employee relations issues and resolving conflicts. Implementing and managing employee performance appraisal systems. Ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. Skills: Comprehensive understanding of HR practices, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle complex HR issues. In summary, while an HR Coordinator typically focuses on administrative and operational support tasks, an HR Generalist has a broader role encompassing various HR functions and strategic responsibilities.
