** Ambulance Department ** Question and Answer segment Question: Why does the St. Maarten Ambulance Department Dispatcher ask so many questions when I call for Emergency Medical Assistance ? Answer: The Ambulance Dispatcher uses the Emergency Dispatch Protocol. The Ambulance Dispatcher has to determine if your call is an actual emergency based on the information you, the caller, provided. That is why the St. Maarten Ambulance Department Dispatcher asks questions. The Emergency Response is quite different from stubbing your big toe on the bed frame, which can be dealt by your house doctor compared to getting into a car accident. It’s the caller’s responsibility to provide as much information as accurately as possible when asked by the St. Maarten Ambulance Department Ambulance Dispatcher to ensure a quick and timely response. Always remember this in any medical emergency situation: time is of the essence. It’s the difference between life and death.

What about GPS-enabled Ambulance Service? It was around 11 pm the other night I received a call to attend to an Obstetric emergency at the hospital With the prevailing security challenges, 11 pm was not a good time to venture out in a private car You may not live to tell the story of how the journey went😡 So I asked for the hospital ambulance Kidnappers would naturally avoid an ambulance😁 The Ambulance driver was not so conversant with my address so I spent quite some time explaining the route to him. This delayed his response This wouldn’t have been necessary if the Ambulance was GPS enabled As simple as this sounds it may mean life or death for a patient It's not enough to have ambulances, ensure they are GPS-enabled to improve efficiency. The Global Positioning System(GPS) is one of the transformative changes in the field of emergency response This innovative approach has significantly enhanced the efficiency, speed, and accuracy of emergency medical services, ultimately saving lives in critical situations It borders me that sometimes those who play key roles in health-related policy-making are people who have lost touch with the realities of clinical practice Involving key players in clinical management in governance and policy-making will help to tame these “little foxes that ruin the vineyard. Using Systems Thinking to deliver management consulting, soft skills training, facilitation and engagement, leadership coaching, development mentoring and NHS informatics transformation. Will respond to all pronouns.
Interesting article and one which has clearly worked in practice. Very similar in objective to my ongoing PhD thesis and this particular process was also researched by Grazia Antonacci et al (2018) "The use of process mapping in healthcare quality improvement projects". My concern is the underlying mechanism for reaching the desired outcome. Is it process mapping that is the magic wand or is there something else at work? Personally, I believe that process mapping merely creates an environment where the desired outcomes of joint working understanding can be nurtured. Process mapping in itself is no more a solution than any other collaborative tool. Indeed, process mapping in itself is a fairly in-depth task and not always appropriate for other problems where individuals or small teams need to be brought together. The question is about how we create shared understanding? Through shared experience. Shared experience of process mapping, shared experience of entity diagramming, or even just shared experience of discussing a problem over coffee. The point is that we need to work together in the experiential sense.. In an age where we rely so heavily on technology, there is no substitute for walking a mile in someone's shoes.
NHS SCW provided comprehensive administrative support to NHSE by implementing a strategic and sustainable solution. Through meticulous #ProcessMapping, we identified how to optimise efficiency and maximise value. Read more ➡️ bit.ly/3TLGQ3t #QualityImprovement

All too often we get event companies undercutting on prices and compromising patient safety in the form of non-regulated ambulance conveyance. So please, If you are an event company doing this, please don't. It is an offence and it is also dangerous should anything go wrong if you are not adequately insured. If you are an event organiser please do your due diligence. It takes 30 seconds but could potentially save you a lawsuit and a death. If your medical provider has nothing to hide all of this material will be offered up from the beginning.
"Our current medical provider isn't CQC registered, but they can still take people to hospital in an emergency." Thankfully its the weekend, because i don't think i can cope with another person telling me this this week! We don't take people to hospital for fun. Most ambulance conveyances are emergencies. If this were the case, nobody would be registered. If you're choosing an event ambulance provider for your event, please make sure you check they're CQC registered. Your guests/visitors/customers are trusting you to make the responsible choice. Its an offence to carry out a regulated activity without being registered. You can easily check by asking your provider, or visiting the CQC website.

Delighted to announce the completion of the WHO/ICRC Basic Emergency Care: Conflict-Related Injuries certification from the World Health Organization Throughout the course, I dedicated myself to mastering the essential components of trauma management, with a particular focus on the critical CABCDE assessment and life-saving interventions tailored for various traumatic injuries. From blast injuries to penetrating wounds, burns, and acute conditions, the training provided me with a comprehensive understanding of how to navigate complex medical emergencies effectively. What excites me most is the practical applicability of this knowledge in real-world scenarios, especially in demanding environments such as conflict zones. The course has instilled a heightened readiness and confidence to confront high-stress situations head-on, ensuring optimal outcomes for patients needing medical assistance. Moreover, I am pleased to note how this experience further reinforced my internal medicine passion. It has underscored the interconnectedness of medical specialties and the importance of holistic patient care. #EmergencyCare #TraumaManagement #ConflictInjuries #HealthcareTraining #ProfessionalDevelopment #GlobalHealth #EmergencyMedicine #WHO #ICRC
