Even sometimes thinking, will I be good again? If there's one thing I've learnt, only you can change it. Showing up every single day, giving 100% and trusting in your processes it will eventually improve. We've all been through it at some point, and we've all got out of it! When building out a tech team in Mexico, its very common to hire people coming from the agency world. That's how many developers break into the industry and and it serves as a great "finishing school" for tech talent. However, the onboarding process needs to take that into account. Here Stephen Sper explains how he does it at Salesloft in GDL. 🧘Calm them down - they might worried that they need to be "billing right away" and avoid being on bench. It's different in a product focused company. 📆Give them a long term perspective - they need to be thinking 10 years out, not just the next client they sign. 🤝Do 1-1s with various team members - so they get acquainted with a higher "product surface area". It will help them get a real sense of ownership.

As I close out my official first 6 months with Nextiva, here's my reflection: I'll be up front, as a recent college graduate, I had no clue what tech sales was. I had no clue how hard it was to break into tech sales, much less maintain a career in tech sales! A very kind, genuine, and supportive woman, Danielle Cadena, took a chance on this passionate, retired softball player. That being said, I took that chance and ran with it! Nextiva is on cloud9, and I am right there with it. The amount of knowledge I have gained throughout the past six months is unimaginable. What I've learned💡 - Confidence is key - Hard work is a privilege - Change is inevitable - Be the person people trust as a resource - Be direct: don't beat around the bush, worst they can say is NO! What would I tell myself 6 months ago? 🤔 - Take it one day at a time - Follow as many sales leaders on LinkedIn as possible - Showcase your EQ - Share your experiences with your peers: Wins and Losses - FAILURE IS NECESSARY FOR GROWTH That being said - I am so excited to see where I am another six months from now. I have A LOT of new connections and I am grateful for the opportunity to share a little more about me and my personal career journey rather than your typical BORING LinkedIn post. Back from a long weekend in sunny Weymouth ☀️ Rosie & Rusty loved splashing and running free with other dogs on the beach ❤️ I can’t believe this is my 10th week at VoCoVo 🥳 Time flies when you’re having fun! 4 Top things I have learned or achieved in my first 10 weeks here 1. I’ve loved meeting people across the business and experiencing that what you see and hear from people in the business about our values and culture, our successes, challenges etc during the hiring process is very much accurate! 2. VoCoVo really is the most powerful voice in retail. No one does what we do or how we do it. 3. I’ve made my first 2 hires and one of those is for someone to join my team in Talent Acquisition! 🥳 lots of interviews ongoing for roles across the business too. 4. It’s important to build on stone and not sand - a great phrase I heard from our Co - CEO Beth Worrall. No mistake that cannot be fixed. So if it doesn’t work put me somewhere else or fire me.
