Last week, we successfully conducted the CVTS assessment test at Musawa LGA, highlighting our commitment to ensuring education for all in Musawa LGA, Katsina State. This initiative is part of our effort to address the shortage of capable teachers in underserved communities. Our goal is to recruit 66 dedicated Community Volunteer Teachers who will bridge the education gap in areas without qualified educators. A total of 120 candidates participated in the assessment test. The next step involves conducting interviews to select the most qualified 66 individuals from across the wards. Once selected, they will undergo comprehensive training to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver effective teaching and make a lasting impact in their communities. International Day of Education - January 24, 2025 🌍 Education is not just a right; it’s a powerful tool to transform lives and communities. On this special day, we celebrate the role of education in shaping a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future for all. As a proud member of the IBTIDA Society at the University of Central Punjab (UCP), I am honored to share our ongoing efforts to bring education to slum areas. I completed my review of the RSHE statutory guidance consultation by the Department for Education. Closing date 11 Jul 24. https://lnkd.in/dxVDxqSX The existing statutory guidance lacks clarity on key issues and fails to prioritize the rights and needs of neglected children. The focus seems to be more on the rights of parents rather than on the rights of children to receive timely, inclusive education. RSE should prioritize increasing the knowledge, autonomy, and confidence of young people and reflect the call for more inclusive education. Limiting and rationing information will not protect children but make them more vulnerable. #RSHE

The crisis where 26 million Pakistani kids are out of school and 43 million are stuck in classrooms that fail them isn’t just a tragedy; it's a glaring testament to misplaced priorities. The government's stingy allocation, often skimping on the suggested 4% of GDP for education, coupled with a governance system that seems more interested in bureaucratic power plays than educational reform, keeps this disaster alive. Sure, we can jazz up reports with talk of parent engagement or expect miracles from underpaid, undertrained teachers with some fancy new tactics, but let's not kid ourselves. These aren't the solutions to a problem rooted in a systemic failure to see education as the cornerstone of national development. What we really need is a policy revolution that puts education at the very top of the national agenda, not just as a line item in a budget or a flashy promise in election manifestos.

This alarming statistic is a wake-up call for our nation. The future of millions of children hangs in the balance not receiving adequate education. #MOFEPT #Charactereducation Rollout of Character Education Strategy We are excited to announce the rollout of the Character Education Strategy in Islamabad Public Schools under the auspices of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training starting August 2024. This initiative aims to cultivate essential values and skills in our young students. In this regard, textual material preparation is in progress and the first four booklets for the month of August are ready. Public vs Private Education in Pakistan: Key Findings based on National Achievement Test (NAT) 2023 in ICT A Sample of 777 students were assessed in Grade 4 in the Islamabad Capital Territory in NAT 2023 that involved 506 students from public and 271 students from Low-Fee private schools. In total, students from 48 schools were assessed, 26 public and 22 low-fee private schools registered with Private Education Institutions Regulatory Authority (PIERA) . Key highlights: Overall, there are no significant differences in the results between public and private school students. Students in public schools perform slightly better in Urdu and Math’s while students in private schools perform slightly better in English Boys in public schools have better scores than those going to private schools while girls perform slightly better in private schools than in public schools. Public school students have performed better in rural areas in comparison while private school students have performed better in urban areas. The average score in English and Math’s in public schools in rural areas is 44% and 41% respectively versus 41% and 37% averages obtained in public schools in urban centers. Average class size is higher in public schools (41 students per class) than in private schools (19 students per class). Teachers in public schools have better academic and professional qualifications than those teaching in private schools. More than 65% of public-school teachers have a master’s degree in comparison to only 23% in private schools. Teachers in public schools have more years of professional experience than those in private schools. Almost 73% of teachers in public schools have more than 11 years of experience in comparison to 17% in private schools. The percentage of teachers that report having to teach more than one grade every day is higher in private schools (33%) than public schools (4%) There are no differences between the reported distance of public versus private school students and their homes with more than 70% of students reporting living within 2 km radius from their school #MOFEPT
