Keir Starmer’s pledge to embrace civil society as a key engine for national renewal is to be welcomed. Charities and voluntary groups are rooted in local communities and have a passion for change that government’s neglect at their peril. The relationship will not always be smooth, nor should it be. Charities have a duty to speak out in support of their beneficiaries and this will, on occasion, bring them into conflict with government. But it is out of this creative tension and mutual respect that good policy is made that helps deal with the most pressing challenges we face. Replacing the sterile and destructive ‘culture wars’ with a new ‘society of service’ is an excellent place to start. #charity #volunteering #voluntarysector #labourparty #civilsociety

With NeighborLink new platform, anyone from anywhere at any time can ask for help or offer assistance to their neighbors however they need. Regarding all the ways the community can help support NeighborLink, Eric said there are three main ways to join the mission. The first is if someone needs help, to sign up and ask for help. The second way to do our part is for everyone to sign up and select projects to help our neighbors, get to know them, and create a lasting relationship. The final way you can help is through donations. Donations allow NeighborLink to help relieve some of the financial burdens of larger projects that require various costly materials. Am even offering you all a magnanimous point spread that goes as follows: I give you 2 points for every differential in seed if my team is seeded higher (eg. my team a four, your team a thirteen, you get 18 pts from me). 🗣 Have your say on how we work with charities, voluntary organizations, and town and parish councils to help them take ownership and management of council owned assets. We believe that these transfers represent a significant opportunity to strengthen local engagement and make sure assets are managed in a way that best serves the needs of our residents.
