Private Sector Engagement | Partnerships | Creating Change For Animals in Tourism, Social Media and Fashion
We often have challenging conversations with travel companies. We ask that they recognize animals as sentient - able to feel love, pain, anxiety and fear - much like humans. We ask these travel companies to change their policies to protect wild animals caught up in tourism, instead of exploit them. My colleague Stephanie Kruuse Klausen has forged an amazing alliance with Spies (Nordic Leisure Travel Group AB) where they work together to create new and innovative ways to continue to grow their alliance and share the future of tourism to be wildlife-friendly. If you're a travel company looking to create true and lasting change for your customers, your stakeholders, your staff, and the 500,000+ wild animals caught up in tourism let me know. We can help. We have an animal welfare policy template, a step by step guide, tons of research, travel docs and animal policies.

Do you ever really thank your TEAM!? I'm not referring to the "Great job everyone! Well done", I'm talking about the End of year Christmas Party, where you let your hair down and give thanks to your work family. I learnt the importance of Christmas Party's during my years at Dan Murphy's. Christmas get togethers are important to for team bonding and morale building. Your team need to know their hard work is appreciated and it's also a great way for them to understand each person's contribution to the business, be thanked with awards and build new friendships. It's easy to get caught up in our colleagues' job titles and forget that they have their own unique stories. When you take the work title away, every person has their own individuality and a lot more to offer than just their job responsibilities. #PKVA #PKvirtualassistant #PKVAadmin #PKVAHR #businessprofessional #businesscommunity #businessmanagement #smallbusinessgrowth #tipsforbusiness #businesstipsandtricks #businessproductivity #onlinebusinesssupport #accountabilitypartner #growyourbusinessonline #businesstipsforsuccess #problemsolver #servicebasedbusiness #buildalifeyoulove #businesssupport #adminsupport

In America, we align much of our value as a human being with the job we have and the company we work for. It isn't like this in most other places in the world. You are you every second... even after the work day and you have value at all times. Life is great when it is going great, but it hits hard personally when work life is not going so well. Our work will not need us one day. Who we are is more than work. The value we bring to the world goes beyond work. Who we are will be with us at all times. Whether it is going great or not so great...just like work life.... This too shall pass. Have a great day and the after and so on... 😊 https://lnkd.in/gU_rKDPS

We cannot be more eager to introduce the next member of the #TennaTEAM, Joe Lostoski! Joe is on our Sales Development team and we want you to get to know a little bit more about him. Q: How long have you worked in the industry? A: 'I've been in the construction industry almost my entire life. My father owns and operates a mining and hauling business where I worked in the field and in the office. I’ve also worked in sales for estimating software and steel before coming to Tenna as well.' Q: What is your best advice for someone facing a challenging work week? A: 'The best advice for a challenging work week is to focus more on the bigger picture and what the results of the challenging work week will bring. I look at my tasks at work, whether hard or easy, as all being seeds I planted for myself. I know if I focus on how these short term challenges can help me get to my desired result, it makes tackling the challenges on a weekly basis much easier for myself.' Q: What is your favorite fall activity? A: 'My favorite fall activity is spending time hiking in the woods with my friends and family. I grew up a stones throw away from Cuyahoga Falls National Park. I still feel I was spoiled having cross country practice every day back in high school running the beautiful different trails in the valley.' Q: What is your favorite part about working for Tenna? A: 'My favorite part about working for Tenna is being part of a company that is not only passionate about solving problems in the construction industry, but also comes from construction. Tenna was born from working out in the field for Conti Civil. I love working with a team that understands what’s it’s like being out in the field on a job site when we are introducing our brand. I knew from a young age I wanted to help the hard working men and woman in the construction industry because I saw how much it gave back to my family. For my job training, I was given a stipend to buy steel toe boots to do a job walk. I didn’t need go buy those boots, I already had my own pair, broken in and caked with sand from my time working for my father’s construction business.'

Say hello to Nicola our Administrator and Executive Assistant (She keeps the directors organised) here at Sudburys. In our latest round of Q&A, we asked... If you could only wear one colour to work for the rest of your life, what would it be? “I can’t pick! Bright. Bright is my colour. If you’ve seen me, you know I live most of the year in dresses of a variety of colours, just add tights and boots and the bright summer dress becomes winter proof!” How do you approach problem-solving in your role? “ I’m happy and comfortable enough to just follow my instincts and just ‘click the buttons’, see where the problem-solving process takes me. The worst that can happen is I make a mistake which I will then fix up. The best outcome is I will solve the problem first go at it. Either way I will have learned something, and the problem will be being solved!” How do you like to celebrate an occasion? Do you like making a fuss or keeping things low-key? “Depends on the occasion 😊 Sometimes low key is nice but other times it's nice to be fussed over.” That’s good for us because today is Nicola’s birthday, so we wanted to make a bit of a fuss and say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! #Sudburys #EmpoweringBusiness #EmpoweringPeople #PeopleAndCulture #GetToKnowSudburys #OurTeam

Building confidence by elevating Health & Safety capabilities within your business // HASANZ Registered // ProfNZISM
𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 This past weekend, our journey to Kaikoura for my son's rugby took an unexpected turn, leading us to a heartwarming encounter that changed our lives. Amidst the cheers of the game and the breathtaking scenery, we stumbled upon a precious puppy in need of a loving home. What made her even more special was her deafness, but to us, this was not a limitation but an opportunity to provide her with even more love, care, and a chance to learn and grow. As a family, we embarked on a journey of discovery, realizing that just as we would teach our new fury friend how to navigate her world, she would also teach us valuable lessons in patience, empathy, different communication techniques and the beauty of embracing differences. This experience resonates deeply with our work in business and health and safety consulting. Too often, businesses overlook the value of a reciprocal approach to learning and development. Just as we see the immense potential in our deaf puppy and eagerly embrace the opportunity to teach and learn from her, businesses can benefit greatly from fostering an environment where both employers and employees are empowered to share knowledge, skills and insights. In the same way that our family is committed to providing our puppy with the tools and support she needs to thrive, businesses should prioritize creating spaces where employees can contribute their unique perspective and ideas, ultimately enhancing processes and fostering innovation. Moreover, fostering a culture of idea-sharing can lead to incredible breakthroughs. When employees feel valued and encouraged to share their thoughts, they become part of the solutions. As we embark on this journey with our new fury companion, we are reminded of the power of embracing opportunities, fostering growth, and learning from each other along the way. #EmbraceOpportunity #LearningAndGrowing #InnovativeBussinessProcesses

As part of our award-winning Life at Irwin Mitchell campaign, many colleagues have considered the question “What does life at Irwin Mitchell mean to you?” What does life at Irwin Mitchell mean to me? I joined Irwin Mitchell in January 2021, mid-pandemic, which was quite a challenge as all social aspects of life were at a halt, however, the friendliness in the team was unmatched making me more welcome than ever. Since the introduction to our “Flexible by Choice” way of working, I have been able to work more flexible from home and in the office. I am able to plan my workday around my life, rather than having to plan my life around my workday. This is something I am forever grateful for. There are so many benefits to this way of working which allows an increase of engagement, greater performance and productivity, and improves work-life balance. As someone who did not go to university, Irwin Mitchell have fully supported my ‘alternative route into law’ by continuing to fund my CILEX qualification. I have gained invaluable experience here and I look forward to the next stages of my career through developing technical knowledge and training in advocacy. Since this post is a lot longer than expected, I would like to mention Tracey, Nick and Helen..... Tracey Lander was my previous line manager. She has given me upmost support over the past couple of years which has really helped me excel in my career. She continues this support not by being my team leader, but a great friend. Nick Northrop is my current line manager and I thank him for the number of opportunities he has made available for me over the past couple of months since starting my role in his team. A team who are full of technical skill and knowledge, I might add. Helen Royles-Jones is my mentor, who is definitely keeping me on the right track to developing my professional career at IM. I would never have thought I would have such confidence to do half of the things I have done at Irwin Mitchell, especially holding Joint Settlement Meetings and presentations. Not to mention the amazing feedback we receive – as you will see, I keep a little stash of the cards I have received! Here’s to the future. #LifeatIM #irwinmitchell #career #law #legalcosts
