Provides folks with self catering holidays in a natural forested environment so that they can recharge. Tourism | Property | Subsea

#Tourism and #Sustainability is tricky. Travel / transport is usually a prerequisite of taking a holiday break. Travel / transport is, of course, one of the biggest carbon emission contributors. Moreover, we are unlikely to stop doing it as we are unlikely to stop taking breaks away from home. Some pledge to stop or at least limit air travel in their quest to limit their carbon footprint. They make go on to take breaks  closer to home. Travel / transport still however is still a part of the “get away.” Notable also is that when folks are on holiday they are at the very best / worst for consumerism. This is because they seek to maximise their experiences and enjoyment whilst away. In turn, this is another source of emissions beyond their normal order of things. In my observation some of the highest consumerism behaviours are exhibited by young folk. They are are only trying to live life to the full and enjoy themselves. It seems perhaps that when away from home the strong green and sustainable values that they might promote go out the window, so to speak. These are some of the contentious issues that confront tourism and will undoubtably be subjects of debate on Earth day at the ASSC tourism conference in Perth. Come and contribute to the debate. It is a tricky one. #cairngormlodgesandbothies #sustainabletourism #regenerativetourism #redsquirrel #scotent #aileenlamb #janienewmann #ASSC #selfcatering
