#Mondaymotivation and #inspiration from Marie, Founder and CEO at LS Productions #peoplemakeplaces My Hero… “I am inspired by people around me - like the book-keeper in our office, a single mum bringing up her son and working really hard on her own career. And I’m inspired by my sister who lives with ME and has three kids, which is really challenging.” My Best Decision… “was starting LS, even though I had no experience of running a business at all. I never dreamt back then that we would get to where we are now.” My Best Business Tip… “Write a business plan. For a long time I was scared of writing a business plan, because if you don’t achieve it, then you’ve failed. But a plan is not tattooed on your body – you can always write a new one.” 3 is a Good Number Marie says they are finding the commercial market tough at the moment, but fortunately fashion is quite buoyant, and their biggest growth is going to come from film and TV production as so much work is coming to the UK just now. Three is a good number of income streams to have. To paraphrase a wise man, “The Only Constant in (Business) Life Is Change.”. Having your eggs in more than one basket could help you face the changes which are coming. Just look at Jessica and Darren at Sonihull from last week’s post. Their original income stream is from private boat owners, then they added the commercial marine market. Recently, they have added the industrial sector on dry land to their range. They are now well placed to negotiate the choppy seas of business (sorry!) and whatever future challenges come their way.   And look at the awesome training company, ZingTrain. Pre-covid, they offered class-based training and sold learning materials. When the first lockdown hit, they had to quickly pivot to online training on Zoom as the classrooms closed. Now, they offer both class-based and online training alongside the books, and have gained a new following of overseas fans/customers across the world from Brazil to Germany and many other countries too, and the company is now more resilient as a result. Every cloud…  3 is the Goldilocks number Having just one income stream means you have all your eggs in one basket, and history tells us that is not always the wisest decision. Five baskets could be spreading your resources a bit thin. There are only 24 hours in each day, and you only have so much cash in the bank. You can’t do everything you want to. Three is a good number of income streams to give your business some resilience for the next challenges which will come, while at the same time not spreading your resources too thinly. #winwin  #motivationalmonday #motivation #inspirational #inspire #inspireothers #inspirationalleader #mindset #mindsetmonday #mindsetmatters #mindsetforsuccess #entrepreneurship #entrepreneurs #businessowners #business #leadershipmatters #leadershipqualities #learningeveryday #founder #ceo #founderstory #successstory #success #pinchmemoment

“Pinch me moment” for Marie today as she’s profiled in the Times ‘How I Made it' feature. A fantastic achievement for Marie who started LS all those years ago from her now ‘infamous’ kitchen table and who’s been on a hell of a journey ever since. It’s not overstating it to say she’s an inspiration to many and has taken LS Productions from strength to strength. Congratulations Marie and we agree that your best decision was kissing that boy back in Tenerife all those years ago - Full article below (free to read for 1 month) https://lnkd.in/echC384f #Founder #filmproduction #TheTimes #creativeindustry
