LS FUTURE LEADERS WITH MARIE OWEN ⭐ Last Thursday, LS CEO Marie Owen sat down with Sarah Baillie, Chair of The Marketing Society Scotland Future Leaders programme for a brilliant and wide ranging conversation about her own career path, what leadership means to her and her experiences nurturing talent and leadership capabilities within the LS team. What followed was a fantastic and thoughtful discussion touching on Marie’s leadership journey and how in her book, leadership doesn’t always follow a straight path. She also spoke about how it has always been a core focus to build the right team around her based on complementary skills and backgrounds, learning to delgate through trust and the pride she takes in seeing people thrive and take on new challenges. Other topics included the value Marie places on LS having a strong and vibrant culture, rooted in a core set of values that the whole team can identify with and how this naturally builds teamwork. Alongside this she spoke about how the first thing she looks for is authenticity in a candidate and that related world skills are as valuable to her as conventional qualifications. Thank you so much to everyone who came along to listen and stay on for a few drinks afterwards. Such a thrill to see the room filled with young Scottish marketing talent asking insightful questions which led to a brilliant discussion. Till the next one.
