It's the day! We've made it to Glasgow for LEAD Scotland, and we've started the afternoon off with some discussions on Scottish politics. Here are some key takeaways from the first few sessions:                        1. Marie Owen, our new AA Scotland chair, spoke about the importance of making connections across the advertising landscape to help us weather the change all businesses are facing 2. Daniel Johnson MSP delivered a political keynote, in which he emphasised the importance of selling Scotland to the world as well as the need to articulate Scotland's strengths and what it can offer                                                           3. WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 2024 - With this year's theme focusing on workplace mental health, our People and Operations Manager, Laura Coulthart, has written a short piece about the journey we have been on at LS Productions to improve our mental health and wellbeing support in the workplace. ‘In an industry known for long hours, ever changing hectic schedules, complex problem solving and long periods away from home, burnout can be a real issue if not carefully managed with the right support network. WRAPPING UP THE WEEK - There’s been lots going on behind the scenes at LS this week,  but we just wanted to take a moment to highlight one of our favourite parts - when we joined over two and half thousand 14-16 year olds at the Developing Young Workforce Roadshow, as they had their first experience thinking about where they might want to take their future career. Daunting, exciting, confusing… Most of us can remember those nerve wracking moments as we made our first steps into the world of work. Understanding the possibilities of what a career in the creative industries could look like and breaking down barriers for kids of all backgrounds is a fundamental value for us at LS and something we will always advocate strongly for. Never has it been more essential that we inspire young minds in Scotland as to the creative possibilities that are available in their future career and all the amazing companies on their doorstep, so we build an inspired future generation of creative talent who can take our local industry from strength to strength. Massive thanks to the DYW, all our fellow exhibitors and to everyone that came to say hello. An utter joy of an event that LS co-sponsored in conjunction with the Advertising Producers Association (APA) and Finger Music & Sound Design all hosted with style and aplomb by the magnificent Victoria Secrets. With a brilliant turn from our very own Sarah Drummond on the door, some seriously unexpected dance moves and a whole bunch of worthy winners - we literally laughed till our faces hurt. The campaign starts now to make this a staple in the Kinsale calendar. Till next year... x
