This really fits with everything we’re picking up. Reconnecting and rebuilding relationships is so important and having a more coherent system would make that so much more straightforward
I’ve been talking with education leaders about inclusion and one of the challenges of the current school context that they identified was that attitudes and relationships between parents, children and schools have changed since the pandemic.

Neat article on why developing schools as system leaders is critical!👇 This quote sums up the work I feel I’ve been doing: “We know, that feeling included and having a sense of belonging can be nurtured by the environment created in schools, with teacher-student relationships at the heart, strong connection with parents, and schools which are part of the place in which they sit – to which they truly belong.” But this quote comes up again & again in the Places were I’ve been spending time: “The days of blind trust in institutions and professions are long gone.” Mistrust in “the system” needs to be recognised and trust needs to be rebuilt, but we don’t build trust by ‘doing to’ people, we build it by involving people and becoming part of the system. #PlaceMaking

Attention educators and parents! Did you know that in about 40% of public schools, not a single student is identified as gifted? Shocking, right? This is despite the fact that most states require schools to find and serve gifted children. It's time we tap into this untapped potential nationwide. Let's work together to identify and serve these bright young minds. #GiftedEducation #EducationReform #UntappedPotential

The pandemic has undoubtedly reshaped the dynamics between parents, children, and schools, highlighting the importance of positive attitudes and relationships within the educational setting. Adapting to these changes requires a collaborative effort among all stakeholders to foster a supportive and inclusive environment that prioritizes the well-being and academic success of students. By addressing these challenges with empathy, open communication, and a shared commitment to inclusivity, we can navigate this transitional period and create a stronger foundation for education moving forward.
