The approval of interventions on historical monument buildings is subject to strict rules – they can only be executed based on the approval of the Ministry of Culture and National Identity or of decentralized public services, WITH the consultation of the National Commission of Historical Monuments and/or the zonal commissions of historical monuments. Brilliant to see England Environment Agency seed funding support the maintenance and critical update of #groundwater #remediation guidance. Prime example of the global leadership in sound science from CL:AIRE, Environment Agency, Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru / Natural Resources Wales, Scottish Environment Protection Agency, NIEA Northern Ireland Environment Agency. My technical knowledge accelerated by getting to work with such working groups when I lived in Europe. Total absence of this equivalency in #ASEAN remains a significant limitation to deepening our in-region subject matter expertise. Both #MNA and #NSZD represent a long-term commitment to environmental risk management. Regulators play critical roles throughout the decision making process and ensuring receptors are protected. It has been EYE OPENING coming from an industry that has been at the table for decades sharing science and developing proactive risk-management strategies, to one that does not yet recognise the risk....or experienced this liability come back. Anyone in groundwater sciences looking for PhD funding on emerging asset risks? 😉
