The approval of interventions on historical monument buildings is subject to strict rules – they can only be executed based on the approval of the Ministry of Culture and National Identity or of decentralized public services, WITH the consultation of the National Commission of Historical Monuments and/or the zonal commissions of historical monuments. However, there are also exceptions: if the works carried out on historical monuments or buildings in their protection areas or in protected areas affect the historical substance to a small extent and/or are temporary, their approval can be done WITHOUT consulting the National Commission of Historical Monuments and /or of the zonal commissions of historical monuments. #FironBarNir #attorneys #legal #advisors #realestate #historicbuildings #solarpower #energy

Indigenous People’s relationship to the land is spiritual, and constitutionally recognized and legally protected. The energy industry’s recognition of Indigenous People as rights holders to the lands we work on is foundational for building relationships with communities. Acknowledging unceded and treaty territories is an act of reconciliation that involves recognizing the traditional territory of the Indigenous People who called the land home before the arrival of settlers, and still do. Unceded territories are traditional land that was never legally given up to the Crown, through a treaty or other agreement. The recognition of Métis presence and nationhood is also essential. Territorial acknowledgements should not simply be pro forma statements. To make land and territorial acknowledgements meaningful, it may be helpful to reflect on: · Why is this acknowledgement happening? · How does this acknowledgement relate to the work you are doing on the land? · What is the history of this territory? What are the impacts of colonialism here? · What is your relationship to this territory? How did you come to be here?

❓ Over-regulator or Enabler? Exploring the dual role of the Greek State In this newly-published article, Georgia Gemenetzi explores the role of the Greek State in post-crisis special-purpose planning concerning public land redevelopment. The article focuses on two projects of national importance in railway property and the planning instruments that were established during the planning reform in the aftermath of the fiscal crisis. The findings highlight the contradictory roles of the Greek state in planning matters and the implications of this for existing planning practice in Greece. The picture shows the difference between progress and backwardness, as we see at the top a developed country that respects the work of others and preserves state property, while at the bottom we see a backward country that does not respect the work of others and does not preserve state property.
