Some of My Thoughts About the Strategic Value of HR 💭
Back in the day, while wearing the Head of Customer Support hat, I had a front-row seat at the leadership table. Always one to spot opportunities and foresee potential pitfalls, I, along with my amazing team, decided to dip our toes into the world of HR. We implemented BambooHR, revamped recruiting processes, nailed onboarding/offboarding, and threw in evaluations – a mix of BambooHR's great tools and some cultural flair borrowed from Traction.
Curiosity led me to explore the depth of HR's influence, prompting enrollment in the HR for Transformation course at Beetroot Academy. 🌱 I was lucky to have Anastasiia Khyzhniak as an exceptional instructor. She was so impactful that, when establishing my own company, I invited her to conduct a workshop. Together, we defined our mission, vision, and core values, leveraging her expertise to shape the foundations of our company.
The journey opened my eyes to the strategic powerhouse that HR truly is. Contrary to some misconceptions, HR is more than just the translator of leadership visions to prevent staff turnovers. Oh no, my friends! The HR leader is in the trenches, co-crafting the strategy alongside the leadership team. It's further a collaborative effort of the HR team where everyone, from the top down, is involved in turning strategic goals into actionable plans and execution.
And let's not forget those often not-so-obvious but crucial functions like Risk Management, where by staying on top of regulations and fostering a safe and inclusive work environment, HR minimizes potential disruptions to business operations; Change Management, where HR takes a strategic role ensures that transitions are smooth and that the workforce remains agile; and Data-Driven Decision Making, where transparency and evidence-based insights drive the path forward. These behind-the-scenes heroes play a vital role in shaping the workforce, navigating transitions, and leveraging insights for strategic decisions, embodying values that make businesses not just survive, but thrive! 🌟 #hrstrategy #strategicvision #businesssuccess #riskmanagement #changemanagement #datadrivendecisions
