Understanding the Market Landscape: Cultivating Consumer-Driven Sustainability Market awareness is essential for successful product management, especially in sustainable agriculture. Today's consumers are increasingly vocal about their desire for ethically sourced and eco-friendly food. This shift in consumer behavior presents a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between consumer desires and sustainable farming practices. By analyzing market data, product managers can identify specific consumer preferences and pain points. This valuable intelligence can then be leveraged to develop solutions that incentivize sustainable practices at the farm level. #ProductManagement #Agriculture #Agrotech

It is important to consider the entire food value chain. If we fail in sustainable production, it is impossible to make up for it in the processing industry, let alone in trade. 💥 Food security, environmental protection, and competitiveness cannot be sustained solely through carbon trading or similar systems. For example, carbon trading in the EU will play a very minor role at the latest by 2050. ⏳ Smart and green manufacturing methods in agriculture and resilient supply chains are therefore important factors on this path. 🚜 Thank you, Samuel Schwarzer, for these insights and your work in this field! #foodvaluechain #greenmanufacturing #smartmanufacturing #supplychainresilience #zeroemission

We’re continually investing in consumer trend data to help our customers make more informed decisions, and the data is clear: Consumers continue to show increased interest in ingredients that are farmed and harvested using sustainable farming practices. For example, 47% of consumers agree that “[they] seek foods that are not only ‘good’ for [them] but are also ‘good’ for the planet and the food system .” What does that mean for you? It could be the right time to begin exploring a regenerative agriculture solution with Ardent Mills, and we’d love to chat with you about it! 💡EIT Food recently released their consumer report about regenerative agriculture. This report is full of insights regarding consumer perspective and provide valuable information to those in the early startup stages to better understand their audience. We highly recommend taking a look at this report! 🌱What is regenerative agriculture? Here's a taste of what the report covers: “Regenerative agriculture is an approach to farming that uses soil conservation as the entry point to regenerate and contribute to multiple provisioning, regulating and supporting services, with the objective that this will enhance not only the environmental, but also the social and economic dimensions of sustainable food production." 👉View the full report here: https://lnkd.in/erssFHxf #eitfoodcommunity #agriculture #regenerativeagriculture #sustainability #consumerreport #foodsystemtransformation

A report from the EIT Food Consumer Observatory examines European consumers’ understandings of regenerative agriculture. Among the findings: • Consumers do not see the need to transform current agricultural practices • Consumers confuse regenerative agriculture with organic agriculture • Health and taste are the biggest drivers for choosing foods from regenerative agricultural methods • Most consumers believe products produced through regenerative agriculture are healthier. • Consumers want to know more. Recommendations in the report include telling a compelling story about the advantages of regenerative agriculture, using a consumer-centric definition that includes product-level benefits, explaining the differences between regenerative and organic, and addressing concerns about scale, farmer benefits and prices. #Organic #regenerativeagriculture #organicfarming #organicproducts #climatesmart

Our member vGreens has reached an important milestone towards the team's vision for AI-driven food production: The release of their first industrial module for data-driven and sustainable strawberry production! Here at Foodhub NRW, we believe that Controlled Environmental Agriculture (CEA) is an important puzzle piece in the food system of the future. We are excited that there is a vibrant ecosystem of technology and farming start-ups working on creating CEA solutions that are economically and ecologically sustainable. Let's try to quantify the benefits in the case of vGreens' strawberries: 💧 water efficiency: traditional strawberry farming uses up to 300 liters of water per kilogram of strawberries. vGreens tries to recirculate the water lowering the consumption to just 4 liters per kg 🚫 zero pesticides in the production process 📐 space efficiency: vGreens' method yields 30x more compared to the conventional 2 kg per square meter (ground) per year 📅 year-round production: their data-driven approach allows strawberry production on demand, 365 days a year. Make sure to follow vGreens' LinkedIn Page for more detailed updates! #CEA #indoorfarming #landwirtschaft

Agriculture is the process of producing food, fiber, and many other products by growing plants and raising animals. It is considered one of the oldest human activities that humans began to achieve self-sufficiency. Over time, it has evolved to include many diverse types and styles. *Types of agriculture: 1. Traditional agriculture 🌾: It depends on traditional methods and manual farming, and includes basic crops such as wheat, barley, and rice. 2. Organic agriculture 🥦 : It is concerned with growing crops and raising animals without the use of industrial chemicals, with a focus on environmental sustainability. 3. Intensive agriculture 🚜 : Modern technologies are used to increase productivity, such as advanced agricultural machinery and chemical fertilizers. 4. Hydroponic agriculture 🌱 : It depends on growing plants in nutrient solutions instead of soil, and is used in closed environments such as greenhouses. 5. Aquaculture💧: It includes raising fish and plants in tightly controlled aquatic environments, which provides sustainable food. Agriculture contributes to providing food, achieving self-sufficiency and strengthening economies. Methods vary to meet the needs of different communities and climates, improving quality of life and preserving the environment.
