Congratulations to our 2023-2024 Planet Protector Award Winners, Kishoka Youth Organization 🎉🌎💚 The Kishoka Youth Organization from Mombasa, Kenya had an incredible impact this year by planting mangrove trees and educating students on the impacts of climate change. With a large group of community members and organizations, they planted thousands of trees and organized multiple clean-ups to reduce the harsh impacts of climate change in Mombasa, while giving back to students in their community. Some truth here.
"Indigenous Peoples have been protectors, interpreters and friends of the earth since time immemorial. Their traditions and cultures are closely tied to nature in ways that have resulted in a deep understanding of the needs and requirements of the land." 🌎🌿 Here are 5 reasons why indigenous communities are imperative to the climate change conversation 👇 https://lnkd.in/eTSy39ZM via Nature Canada

I participated in different competition and frequently failed but spread out the name WE Organization, Bangladesh and declared that joined with the effort of reducing global warming as a rural think tank. WE Organization believes most of the artificiality conserved forest in village level, most of the fruits trees in village level, big part of timber trees in village level. Often, small part of total population contribute in real world, in real think, in real realities. ➡️Inclusiveness. ➡️Sustainability. ➡️Continuous Profit. ➡️ Re applicability. ➡️Investment feasibility. ➡️ Matching with global goals. ➡️ Social Viability. ➡️Branch based operating system. 😇

IT Solutions Specialist: "We help businesses with digital transformation and cybersecurity from endpoints to everything physical and virtual."
It feels good to give back to the planet, even if only virtually. It's so great that Xerox provides these type of "Virtual Volunteering" opportunities so we can make a difference even when physical involvement is difficult. Contributing to the Earth's sustainability is no longer optional. If we want to see a prosperous and promising future for mankind, it has to start now. I was surprised by how much I learned by getting involved. We can turn it around together! Before we go to Mars we need to fix our planet! #savetheearth #climatecrisis #xerox #environmentalawareness #globalwarming #pollution #corporatewaste #deforestation #solidwaste
I volunteered!

𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 ❄️🐾 Today, February 27th, it’s International Polar Bear Day. In winter, polar bear moms and their newborn cubs are snuggled together in snow dens across the Arctic. Denning is the most vulnerable time in a polar bear’s life. And in a warming Arctic, where polar bears face enormous challenges, the survival of every single cub is critically important. At Anthesis-Climate Neutral Group, we're dedicated to fighting climate change by helping businesses achieve net-zero emissions through innovative carbon reduction and compensation strategies and sustainability consulting. Our mission aligns perfectly with the goal of protecting polar bear habitats by addressing the root cause of their decline: global warming. This Polar Bear Day, we're reminded of the urgency of our mission. Polar bears depend on sea ice for hunting, and without it, their survival is at stake. It's a clear signal that businesses must act now to reduce their carbon footprint and embrace sustainability. Join us in making a difference. Together, we can tackle climate change and protect the polar bear for generations to come. 🌍💼🐾 #PolarBearDay #ClimateAction #SustainableBusiness #ProtectOurPlanet Polar Bear International Anthesis Group Anthesis South Africa

Climate change affects all aspects of young people’s lives. Watch the video to learn how Cyclone Freddy upended the life of Esnat, 21 years old, from Malawi. She is only one of many who have been displaced by natural disasters caused by climate change. Boys and girls in the most vulnerable communities bear the brunt of climate change—yet they are least responsible for it. What can YOU do to reduce your environmental footprint? #ENOUGHclimatechange| #EarthDay| #ReducePlastics |#happyearthday| #SaveOurWorld |#loveEarth World Vision UNICEF World Food Programme

We work with children in rural Kenya who are deeply affected by climate change. Drastic weather patterns have led to failed crops and dead livestock, making it harder for parents to afford essentials like school supplies, meals, and medical care. For this year's Global Climate Strike, we are focusing on using art and restoration as tools to educate and inspire change. During an art workshop, the children created their own climate messages, expressing their hopes and concerns. We also held a fruit and indigenous tree planting session to engage the children in hands-on restoration efforts. This approach is crucial to climate change mitigation. By involving children in both creative expression and direct action, we not only raise awareness but also foster a deeper understanding of the importance of restoring ecosystems. Planting trees helps absorb carbon dioxide, improve soil health, and restore local biodiversity, all of which contribute to long-term climate resilience. Through this, we are empowering the next generation to take an active role in combating the climate crisis.

THE WATER PROJECT SERIES Project of the day: Mberuni Intake Water Project, Voi. Completed in 1969 by the National Government to serve the entire Ngolia Village which included Our Lady of Perpetua Girls and the existing dispensary. The water project served as a supplement to the Mwarovo water intake which was built by the Catholic Church to serve the church and its immediate community. Recently, the encroachment and planting of blue gum trees upstream has led to reduced levels of water. CLIMATE CHANGE has also made the story worse. But hope is alive, as steps are underway for its improvement and implementation of CLIMATE-friendly programs. WATER IS LIFE, LIFE IS WATER.
