They use physical force or other forms of intimidation on victims, like threats of deportation, emotional abuse, manipulation, and abuse of trust or power. Here's our thoughts on last week's announcement of plans to put domestic abuse specialists in 999 control rooms from next year. We see this as an important step in protecting victims-survivors, ensuring police response is improved and that support is on offer. But there is still scope needed for better representation and specialist support, especially concerning older victims.
