Before the event sold out (and before we even opened registration!), we already had Madison Gas and Electric Company on board as the presenting sponsor for our 71st Annual Dinner. That says a lot about MGE's belief in us to deliver an impactful program at Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center on Oct. 15 – and their commitment to making it happen. We are excited about their partnership and look forward to hearing from President and CEO Jeff Keebler at the event, where he will pull double duty as presenting sponsor and Chamber board chair. Thanks to all our sponsors for their investment in this year's program. #AD71

My thanks to the WA Mid West & Gascoyne Major Projects Conference 2024 for the panel opportunity to discuss 'opportunities and challenges as the region seeks to become a global player in the clean energy transition'. With many and varied projects at various stages of development, the region has enormous potential to benefit from the energy transition. Drawing parallels with the historic development of the gas and resource industry in the North West, and what each of the panellists are seeing day to day across the sector, panellists made the following points: Move as a region (not as individual projects or companies) and bring partnerships early into the equation, especially on common user infrastructure to share capital costs. Collaboration on offtake is essential between industry and governments, especially during early stages when prices are higher than willingness to pay. This can include diplomatic collaboration, and domestic and overseas offtake. Proponents need to consider local community needs up front and how to address adjacent social infrastructure development Thanks to Will Pulsford from Poten Partners, Martin Wilkes from RISC and Izzi Messina from Wood for joining me in fielding questions and delivering some engaging conversation and observations.

DYWIDAG participated at last week's 12th International Cable Supported Bridge Operators Conference in New York, USA. The presentation was prepared by our head of R&D, Jakob Laukner, and delivered by Roger Frenn, was titled “Sustainable integration of SHMS into existing and new bridge structures”. The presentation highlighted the connection between a bridge's lifespan management and its lifetime SHMS, including approaches on how to build and integrate #StructuralHealthMonitoring Systems into stay cable structures sustainably, including improved standardized guidelines and an inter-disciplinary approach, ensuring that quality and fit-for-purpose systems are installed, that benefit the structure, and all relevant stakeholders involved, therefore overcoming the risk of poorly executed and/or discrete solutions, that can frustrate and fail to deliver the originally expected and promised outcomes. ✅ If you would like a copy of our presentation, please email: jakob.laukner@dywidag.com 👉 More information about the topic can be found in the conference agenda - https://lnkd.in/g5kUNZJM #SaferStrongerSmarter

People ask me what my favorite installation is, and that is a hard question. My clients are amazing for all sorts of reasons, but my goodness, it is special being connected to the Lumbee community. The history, perspective and just specialness of the community really gets to me. I learned a few more things in this interview with James Harden, former ED of Lumbee Regional Development Association. #energyjustice #environmentaljustice #climatechange #solarenergy https://lnkd.in/dg-mykgA

A new report from Pittsburgh Works Together raises concerns about the stability of the electric grid in light of increasing demand for electricity and the reduction of generating capacity amid the slow pace to replace it. Ken Zapinski of the business/labor group detailed the issues on WPXI's "Our Region's Business." https://lnkd.in/eEiXDZvH #electricgrid #electricity #pjm #renewables #fossilfuels
