Every pilot writes their own destiny. It is part of the allure of aviation: The ability to chart your own course, test yourself in challenging conditions, and ensure a safe return to Earth. But that self-determination comes with responsibility and a humble respect for your own limitations. >>> Regulations exist for a reason, codified lessons learned from generations of aviators before. Having the discipline to follow the rules, even when no one is watching, is the mark of a mature and experienced pilot. On a tactical level, Air Traffic Controllers have a much larger picture of the airspace and are doing their best to keep you and your passengers safe. >>> This is not to suggest blind adherence. It is always your prerogative to question authority if it is in error. But, in general, the structure of our air traffic system promotes safety, efficiency, and ease of use. >>> At Greater Than Six, we are interested to hear your stories facing the Anti-Authority attitude in the real world. A debrief of the situation, reasoning, execution, and consequences will provide valuable insight to your peers. As always, your identity is safe and you may speak openly under the protection of anonymity. Share your story at www.greaterthansix.com. #aviation #mentalhealth #P6SM

We’ve all been there: enjoying a window seat, noticing other aircraft on the horizon, and waving at them, only to realize they’ll never wave us back… Guess what? There’s a reason for that! ✈️ In the skies, planes maintain distance to ensure everyone’s safety. The minimum safe distance between two aircraft varies depending on their altitude and airspace regulations. Typically, airplanes are required to stay at least 1000 ft (300 m) vertically and 3.4 mi (5.5 km) horizontally apart for safe flying conditions. 📏 So the next time you want to say hi to that aircraft flying next to yours, say hi to your travel neighbor instead — there’s a higher chance they’ll react. 😎 #AviaSolutionsGroup #AviationIndustry #Aviation
