Happy Fun Fact Friday! It wasn’t long ago when the notion of reaching 200 mph in a vehicle seemed nearly impossible. That threshold was crossed quickly, making the next benchmark hitting 300 mph. Very few cars have actually joined the 300 mph club. Multiple manufacturers have produced sports cars that claim these vehicles are capable of reaching speeds well over 300 mph. The fastest recorded speed, however, goes to the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport which clocked a top speed of 304.7 mph with driver Andy Wallace in 2019.

New generation raging Bull - the 1001hp Lamborghini Revuelto! Coming out of the gates is Lamborghini's new V12 street stalker. It is a leap for the company, as they switch over to hybrid models. Which also includes the new Huracan replacement, the V8 Temerario. And in Lamborghini tradition, they named the new Revuelto after a particular "rebellious" Spanish fighting bull in 1880 that escaped the arena multiple times. Lamborghini felt the name fit the personality of their new car. Powering this rowdy machine, is a 6.5L V12 making 814hp and a trio of electric motors making a combined 187hp (two of which sit on the front axle allowing for torque vectoring during both acceleration & regenerative braking). All resulting in the Revuelto making a total of 1001hp. By all intents and purposes though, the electric motors are there for instant torque/performance, not your typical EV driving. All of this mated to a 8-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission. This culminates in a 2.5 sec 0-60 and a 0-120mph in 7.0, just .5 seconds behind the Bugatti Chiron. Of course these numbers don't always translate to all real-world conditions, but impressive numbers nonetheless. Lamborghini has sold out allotments of the Revuelto for the next two years, with customer cars already reaching customers around the world. #lamborghini #revuelto #supercar #performance #speed #v12 #italy 🇮🇹 #Anis_Maaouia

Half a century ago, #Porsche introduced the Turbo model designation for the flagship 911 series. Since then, the ‘Turbo’ designation has become synonymous with the range-topping Porsche models, and is no longer solely linked to the 911. Since the 1990s, motorsport-inspired series production cars have been even more track-focused, while the Turbo continues to combine uncompromising sportiness and everyday usability. A Turbo unites driving dynamics with efficiency and tradition with innovation, and represents the technological pinnacle in all Porsche model lines. It's the last Friday of the month so it's time to have a little fun! And is there anything more fun than supercars? Supercars, or hypercars, are street-legal, luxury, high-performance sports cars. The 1966 Lamborghini Miura and Ford GT40 were among the first cars of this category, which has enjoyed some highlights over the years. In 1987, the first 200 mph production car, the Ferrari F40, flew onto the scene. In 2005, the Bugatti Veyron broke 250 mph. In 2019, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport broke 300 mph. Today, the fastest supercar is thought to be the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut with a top speed of 330 mph. We are now seriously wondering how fast cars can possibly get? Do they start flying at some point? We are prepared to get additional certifications should this occur. What about you, BTA Fam? What's your favorite supercar of all time? 🤔 #CarHistory #Gearhead

That our cars are quicker around curves than others is not new - for example, the most challenging combination of turns at the race track in Le Mans is named after Porsche. Going fast on a straight is usually also „included“, but more of a side effect, I.m.h.o., at least with petrol powered cars. Well, the world changes, and here’s the new fastest Porsche from 0-60 mph, as tested by Car and Driver: The Taycan Turbo GT. Even without the performance-enhancing Weissach package, it is the first car ever (more cheers) to break the 2 second barrier. And did so with two almost exactly 1.9 second runs. Beating, among a lot of others, fabulous performance rides like our 918 Spyder, which came in at 2.1 seconds close to a decade ago. So. Who said EV‘s are „just“ energy efficient and climate friendly? :-) https://lnkd.in/eUtWGFWC Enjoy driving, responsibly! Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Driving range EPA estimate 276 mls. / with Weissach package 269 mls.
