#EarthDay2024 – Reducing plastic waste and usage, isn’t something that will happen overnight. That won’t work. It’s about making small changes over a long period of time. For example: 🥤 Remove one single-use plastic from your weekly shopping every week 🥤 Recycle those plastics you must use 🥤 Don’t throw (any) trash on the ground, carry it with you until you find a bin. Little things, that If everyone did would make a huge difference. The Green Task Force and PATT Foundation have done litter picks, site clears and general tidying, and you’d be shocked (horrified) at the amount of single use plastic we’ve found (even in remote Welsh valleys). We only have one earth, so let’s look after it.

🌍 Happy Earth Day! 🌱 Did you know that every year, approximately 8 million metric tons of plastic end up in our oceans? 😱 As we celebrate Earth Day today, let's all commit to making a positive difference for our planet. Here are some simple yet impactful ways you can help: 1️⃣ Reduce plastic usage: Opt for reusable water bottles, bags, and containers to minimize single-use plastics. By doing so, you can help decrease the amount of plastic waste that pollutes our oceans and harms marine life. 2️⃣ Conserve water and energy: Small changes like fixing leaks, turning off lights when not in use, and using energy-efficient appliances can significantly reduce your carbon footprint and conserve precious resources. 3️⃣ Support local farmers markets: Buying locally grown produce not only supports your community but also reduces the environmental impact of transporting food long distances. Plus, it's fresher and healthier! 4️⃣ Volunteer for clean-up events: Get involved in local clean-up efforts to help keep our beaches, parks, and streets clean and beautiful. The ocean is facing a plastic crisis, & single-use plastic straws are a big part of the problem. Every day, millions of straws end up in our oceans, harming marine life and polluting our waterways. Wonder where your used plastic goes? Landfills, water bodies, and ignited fires create lifelong hazards for eco spaces. The act of recycling and revamping generates valuable resources for the community. Unfortunately, our community continues to overlook these essential processes, thereby exacerbating the problem of plastic waste. Choosing to generate new resources rather than fully optimising the existing ones will only serve to escalate the plastic count.
