🌞Solar panels are sun-stoppable! On this #InternationalSunDay, we'd like to shed light on the sustainability of solar power — which is in and of itself a sustainable energy source. With an average lifespan of 30 years, solar panels undergo decommissioning and recycling processes. In France alone, tens of thousands of faulty panels undergo recycling every year. According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), this trend is projected to result in 6 million tons of waste across Europe by 2040. Instead of systematically recycling solar panels, what if we developed innovative techniques to repair them and extend their lifecycle? This premise is at the heart of our partnership with SOLREED and the Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives. Convinced that half of the solar panels currently being recycled could be repaired, SOLREED has developed a new repair process to minimize the environmental impact of solar installations. Fully embracing this vision, ENGIE GREEN is committed to enhancing the sustainability of its installations under its TED (Sustainable Energy Transition) label. To support SOLREED, ENGIE Green initially supplied hundreds of defective panels to SOLREED, enabling them to analyze the root causes of failures. ENGIE GREEN's industrial expertise bolsters this endeavor, validating the project and its potential applications. Let's continue to harness solar power — sustainably! ☀️ #WithENGIE

[ASEAN Green Hydrogen Conference 2024] Malaysia's transition to a hydrogen-based economy • Malaysia is aiming for a significant shift towards renewable energy by 2050. They aim to achieve a 70% target in renewable energy installed capacity, up from the current 4%. • Green hydrogen is seen as a key pillar in this transition. The country has a roadmap (National Energy Transition Roadmap or NETR) outlining this strategy. • The government expects this shift to boost the economy. They project a substantial increase in GDP from energy-related activities and job creation. • Collaboration is crucial. Malaysia is working with various ministries, private sectors, and other ASEAN countries like through the ASEAN Power Grid to achieve these goals. • Also highlights Malaysia's commitment to water resource management through the Water Sector Transformation 2040 (WST 2040) initiative.

☀️ Power of Solar Energy for a Sustainable Future 🌍 As the world shifts towards renewable energy, solar power is emerging as a game-changer. With the potential to meet global energy demands, solar energy offers clean, abundant, and cost-effective solutions to some of our biggest environmental challenges. 🔋 Solar panels today are not just powering homes and businesses, but driving advancements in sectors like manufacturing, agriculture, and even transportation. Here’s why solar energy is leading the way: 🌱 Eco-friendly: Reduces carbon emissions and promotes a cleaner environment. 💡 Infinite resource: The sun produces more energy in one hour than the entire world uses in a year. 💰 Cost-effective: With declining costs, solar is becoming increasingly affordable for both businesses and individuals. 🌍 Energy independence: Nations and communities can reduce reliance on fossil fuels. With India being a leader in solar adoption, particularly through initiatives like the International Solar Alliance (ISA), we are making incredible strides towards a greener, sustainable future. Let’s continue pushing boundaries with innovation in solar technology and drive the world towards a renewable revolution. 🌞 #SolarEnergy #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #GreenTech #CleanEnergy #SolarPower #Innovation

Only three weeks to go. Tickets are now limited. To register click here: https://lnkd.in/guRsEPHm Sustainable Industrial Manufacturing Asia Pacific (SIM-PAC) would like to welcome Simon Shaw from The Hydrogen Collective as a speaker at SIM-PAC 2024. As Founder and MD of The Hydrogen Collective, Simon’s role is to develop projects that help communities produce and use their own renewable energy. Simon’s passion is helping locals understand how to efficiently transition to more sustainable energy sources, then providing the funding, expertise and collaboration required to make the transition a reality. H2C is helping regions to produce and use their own renewable energy with a focus on green hydrogen. Generating renewables in their own community enables locals to make the transition to more sustainable energy while supporting local economies. The initial concept enabling this transition is the ‘Wastewater to Hydrogen’ concept that utilises Wastewater to produce green hydrogen. The key to this concept is the utilisation of Oxygen, the lesser known by-product of electrolysis, which is supplied to wastewater treatment plants to improve efficiency and capacity. The hydrogen is then distributed to locals for integration into their energy profiles. With over 1250 Wastewater Treatment Plants across Australia, these facilities provide a platform to enable every and any region to produce and use their own renewable energy. #sustainability #greenhydrogen #wastewater #decarbonisation #renewableenergy

🌞 Renewable energy production in Spain ➡️ Good ✅ 🌍 CO2 reduction in Spain ➡️ Good ✅ ⚡ Electrification and end use of renewables in Spain ➡️ Poor ❌ The BC3 - Basque Centre for Climate Change has published the level of achievement of the main objectives of the Spanish PNIEC 2030. While the penetration of renewables in the grid is progressing as expected, reducing costs and CO2 emissions, #electrification is the outstanding issue. ⚠️ Adoption of #HeatPumps is slow due to traditional dependence on natural gas for buildings, and sales of #EVs are still at low penetration levels. 🏠🚗 On the other hand, #industrial electrification is still slow. The imbalance between renewable energy production and its consumption will soon be problematic if the electrification process is not accelerated. 🏭⚡ I'm excited to start coordinating the eLITHE project at CIRCE - Centro Tecnológico, which is about making the ceramic industry greener by electrifying its high-temperature processes. It's a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a new energy-intensive industry and the wider goal of electrifying industry. 💡

Since 2022, Esseco UK has initiated a series of changes aimed at a substantial shift towards renewable sources, with the goal of reducing dependence on the grid and fossil fuel consumption. As part of significant investment leading to the installation of a new burner with an energy recovery system for steam and electricity production, scheduled for the summer of 2024, Esseco UK is introducing a solar panel system at our Wakefield production site. Esseco UK's immediate objective is to reduce our carbon footprint by 68% and slash fossil fuel consumption by 95% by the end of 2024 at our Calder Vale Road site. This ambitious target will be achievable through the design and execution of a portfolio of high-tech investment projects aligned with Esseco Group's hashtag #ESG values. https://lnkd.in/dVkp9xVg
