🌍 The Honda CR-V obtains 2 1/2 Green Stars 🌍 Green NCAP recently performed its assessment on the e:HEV version of the Honda CR-V. The staple vehicle of Honda receives 2 1/2 Green Stars after collecting an Average Score of 44%. 🍃 Green NCAP’s Clean Air test is where the Honda CR-V performs best, achieving 7.3 out of 10 points and demonstrating adequate and robust control of gaseous pollutants. However, as a heavy SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle), this takes its toll on the car’s petrol consumption figures. Just a few days ago we discussed the dangers of improper torque procedures in the automotive industry, and the recent recall of Volvo XC40 & C40 EVs last week is further evidence of the importance of following correct torque operations. Volvo have had to recall some XC40 & C40 models in Australia as the front passenger seat mounting bolts may not have been tightened to the required torque level, potentially leading to the seat moving inadvertently. The recall stated that "If the front passenger seat moves inadvertently in the event of an accident, it could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants." Nothing new about this kind of article. For years people have accepted that #ICE vehicles do not deliver their advertised #WLTP #MPG figures. That's why the likes of What Car? always publish "real world" figures. In the article the best performers are delivering on average about 10% less than the official figures. So why is it such a problem for so many people that #EVs suffer from the same problem? The problem is with the WLTP testing regime, not the cars, regardless of fuel type. Plus, can we now have a total range figure based on MPG and fuel tank size for ICE vehicles please? A really interesting test carried out by Auto Bild this year show cased by TyreReviews.com Looking at EV specific tyres versus Standard tyres. Standard non specific EV tyres outperformed in the test. With the top performers beating specific EV billed tyres. Continental entered the award winning Premium Contact 7 which is EV compatible (not EV specific) it came 2nd over all and ranked 1st in dry handling, wet braking, Value per km and lowest tyre abrasion. Car tested was the latest Kia EV6.
