Sometimes our challenges feel as big as this chair!! 😬 Where do you start? ✅We need healthier work environments for our healthcare providers, (Renee Thompson DNP, RN, FAAN, Workplace Bullying Expert) ✅We need Healthcare Workforce Resilience Act passed to help international nurses and physicians get here! (Pauline Xavier) ✅We need our nurses to get PAID! Aka Commisison for Nurse Reimbursement (Rebecca Love RN, MSN, FIEL, Melissa Mills, RN, BSN, MHA) ✅Education reform! For all clinicians! GME funding! Support for Rural GME Programs! (Steve Lawler) ✅Funding to revitalize Rural Hospitals. Rural Health Care Facilities Revitalization Act is needed!! (Tim Reeves, LNHA) First and most important step. MOVE! Take action!! Don’t just SIT in it!! Be part of change! Second, you are NOT alone! Cliche, but it’s Teamwork that makes the DREAM WORK!! Did you know that not only do NPs provide exceptional patient care, but they are also leading change in healthcare policies? 🩺 Take the case of Dr. Sophia L. Thomas, a nurse practitioner who served as the 2019-2020 President of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). During her tenure, Dr. Thomas advocated for the removal of barriers to NP practice, testifying before Congress and working with state legislators to promote full practice authority. Her efforts contributed to the passage of several state laws expanding NP scope of practice, improving healthcare access for millions of Americans. 🇺🇸 As an NP, you'll have the opportunity to advocate for policies that improve access to quality healthcare, address health disparities, and promote preventive care. Here’s how you can be part of the change and start making a difference: Participating in state and national nurses' associations 🤝 Attending legislative sessions to understand the policymaking process 🏛️ Building relationships with state lawmakers 🤝 Contributing evidence-based data to inform policy decisions 📊 Educating the public about the process and policies 📣 Your unique blend of clinical expertise and patient-centered approach will be invaluable in shaping policies that prioritize the well-being of individuals and communities. We want to hear from you! Drop a comment below and let us know what healthcare policy or problem you'd like to see changed. 💬 #NPHub #NursePractitioners #HealthierTomorrows

Experienced and nationally recognized leader with a passion for physician/provider recruitment and development.
This report provides some good insight on the trend of APC's shifting from primary care to specialty care. This was a trend that we were already seeing over 12 years ago when Lynne Peterson, CPRP and I did a presentation at AAPPR discussing utilization of APC's in various staffing models including specialty care. One of the biggest challenges remain in specialty specific training and gaining experience. However, there continues to be growth in residency/fellowship and other innovative training programs including those that can be found at HealthPartners
Nurse practitioners helped fill a shortage in primary care, but they're increasingly headed to specialties

NPs say it's harder than ever to find two collaborating physicians. Often hundreds of miles away, the physicians are not needed, rarely consulted, and cost money. PCNP President Amanda Laskoskie speaks to KDKA News on Pennsylvania's requirements for NPs to obtain written agreements with two collaborating physicians, and how these requirements act as obstacles to caring for patients. Amanda explains that one NP she recently spoke with "may speak to her collaborating physician once or twice a year, but every month, every nurse practitioner in her practice – I believe she has four – they pay 2 to 3 percent of revenue for that month to that collaborating physician for that agreement." #NursePractitioners #FullPracticeAuthority #Pennsylvania #HealthcareAccess #HealthcareWorkers #SB25 #HB1825 #CareForPA
