We are celebrating our 1st year 🎗 Here is what I wish I knew before starting Credit: at the beginning stage, your company will not have any credit. Therefore, it can be extremely hard to move freight, unless you already have a big driver base that trusts you. In many cases, you can offer the drivers payment before the delivery, and they will still refuse to book, because of lack of trust. Niche down: choose a small niche, and start doing research. Learn the common issues that shippers face in this specific niche. Come up with solutions to those issues. Focus on these solutions, when doing cold calls or sales in general. Overhead: As you start growing, you will get many calls and emails from companies offering services (tracking services, TMS, marketing, customer leads, business optimizations, credit improvements, etc.). Most of these services will have a binding contract, meaning you will not be able to cancel these services unless the contract ends (some can last up to 3 years). Think twice, before accepting any of these services, because most of your customers can switch to a competitor in any day. This can result in a situation of low cash flow and high overhead, potentially leading to bankruptcy.
Celebrating our 1st anniversary 🎉

Loss of medical insurance will protect your training investment if you were to lose your class 1 medical during training. I’d encourage all Cadets to take it out. #pilottraining

2 weeks ago I celebrated my 8th anniversary at Anyline Here are some learning for everyone, who isn't sure if he/she/they is qualified enough for a job or company. My journey so far was quite a roller coaster. From a team of 15 to team of 100, from internship to leading a team. There will be never an easy, linear way within your career - but exactly this makes it exciting. These are my learnings so far from my 8 years journey: 11.2015 Internship Design & Marketing It took me 3 weeks to apply for this internship, because I didn't know anything about OCR, SDK, or the software business overall and wasn't sure if I fit. Learning: If you don’t try, you will never now. 02.2016 Product Designer After 3 months of internship, the team saw my potential and hired me. It didn’t matter that I didn’t know about our products when I started, but it did matter that I was highly motivated to learn about it and contribute to the companies success. Learning: A really good leader sees your potential and supports it. 01.2017 Brand Manager My passion was always in branding and creating awareness. With the culture we have at Anyline I talked to my team lead and I got the possibility to develop myself further. Learning: There will be no change, if you don’t speak up for yourself. 01.2019 Senior Brand Manager I started to have a small team of designers and event managers and started to do less design by myself, as I realised my strengths are within other areas. Learning: Accept your strengths & weakness. 03.2020 VP of Branding Strategy My contribution was recognised and I got a promotion to VP of Branding Strategy Learning: Resilience and loyalty will pay off (most of the time) 05.2021 VP of Strategic Partnership Due to some restructuring a new opportunity was offered to me and I decided to develop in a different direction, by leading our strategic partnerships. In this 12 months I learned so many new things, that I was a bit scared about: like working on 100 pages of legal contracts Learning: Try new things - the time is never lost as you gain new experience. 07.2022 Head of Awareness Marketing After 1 year within a new area, I realised my heart still beats for branding and creating awareness. And thankfully there was another door opening within Anyline for my next step. Learning (all of the above) - My team lead saw my strength & potential - I spoke up for myself & addressed my need - I gained new experience, which helps me in my new role - I accepted that my strengths lies within branding & awareness If you are wondering, what I'm exactly doing today, you can watch my 60 seconds video
Last week, we celebrated her 8-year Anyline anniversary. And like our company, her role and contributions to our goals have continued to evolve. This is what our own Sophie Kreuzer gets up to in a day, featured in this week's "My Job in 60 Seconds". Enjoy and join us in celebrating 8 amazing years!

You've got 7 wonders of the world. 7 deadly sins. And me, celebrating 7 years with Luminous PR! Shocker – here are 7 things that might have surprised me along my journey... 1. 🙏 I was finally able to let down my walls to show my true vulnerable self. And the sky didn’t fall in, ‘Chicken Licken’. Picking the right time and right people is key to getting this right. I have never in my working life formed such a safe, trusting and respectful bond as I have with my partner in crime Kirsty Jarvis. She sits at the top of my gratitude list each and every day. 2. 😡 I have zero tolerance (maybe a bit of rage too) for Microsoft Teams. Gives me a twitch just thinking about it. 3. ✍ Communications folk are fecking smart and fearless and persistent AF. We take the most complex tech solution, digest it, chew it up and spit it out into accessible stories, getting them in front of the right people to help you achieve your goals. No tech is too tough for the Luminous crew to chew. Even me - that's a surprise too;) Though our head of editorial Jennifer Hood is the master! 4. 🍑 I get really grumpy if I don’t shift my butt during the work day - concentration levels, productivity, happiness, all down the plug hole. Yahdy yahdy yah - we’ve all heard it, prioritising your health makes a difference. Shouldn’t be a surprise. But when you finally ‘get it’ it’s like a slap in the face with an ice cold squid 🦑 5. 😞 This is a sad one… There’s way too many sub-standard PRs out there nowadays who have burned both clients and journalists alike. It makes everyone cautious, to the point that clients sometimes miss out on the real benefits PR can help them achieve. Not saying we're better than the rest, there’s always room for growth. - But we do work to standards and with integrity, transparency and honesty. - We do adhere to comms rules. - And we do deliver on our promise. 6. ⭐ Performing at the top of your game while going through perimenopause is really shit. And it’s not talked about enough. I’ve mentioned brain fog before on here. It’s real. It’s debilitating. And we don’t take a single day off, just ‘plough through’. Enough. Flexible working policies should allow you time and space to be both an outstanding player and a woman who is navigating change. 💪 Kudos to us at Luminous for taking flexibility seriously. 7. 😻 Tech Clients - with all your crazy, quirky, idiosyncratic ways and ideas - might drive us secretly round the twist, but boy, we LOVE it and you make it all worthwhile. Each and every client that comes to us comes armed with an idea, a story, passion, a promise of making positive differences. We are lucky to be invited along for part of the journey. I never tire of the ride. And I never cease to be surprised. Here's to 7 more Luminous years. If you'll have me. xx #agencylife #techpr #careerdevelopment #communications #workiversary
This week, we've celebrated something - or should we say someone - special. Our Managing Partner Alexandra North joined Luminous PR seven years ago! Happy work anniversary. Here's to the next seven. 🎉 🎉 🎉

This month, I’m celebrating my 2nd anniversary at Miviso. How did I feel when starting this new journey? Well, at the beginning, I felt scared and lost. 😱 (Of course, they didn't know about this.) 😀😉 I knew how to overcome challenges and difficult situations, but would I be as effective in a new industry, working with different people, and adjusting to a new team and clients? After two years, I'm excited to share what's been helping me along the way: ✔️𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 Stay curious, ask questions, and be willing to admit that you don't know everything. No one comes fully prepared, even in senior roles. ✔️𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 Share your thoughts, plans, and challenges openly. This ensures timely help, not just during adaptation but always. ✔️𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 Don't sacrifice what's important to you for a good first impression. Think long-term. ✔️𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 I believe in the power of sharing knowledge to create an environment where everyone can learn and excel. ✔️𝐒𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐬 Prioritize collective success over individual glory. It's "we", not "I" that drives workplace achievements. ✔️𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 Be honest, reliable, and respectful to make everyone feel valued. Don't forget to collaborate on an equal footing. ✔️𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 Provide support and guidance, enable colleagues to reach their full potential, and please, don't cut their wings. ✔️𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 Offer constructive and actionable feedback. Praise what went well and offer suggestions for improvement. ✔️𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 Be responsible for your actions, especially when things go wrong. Learn from mistakes and demonstrate integrity and accountability. ✔️𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 (𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦) 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 Acknowledge hard work and dedication, and celebrate achievements, big or small.

Celebrating My 2nd Anniversary at Avon Medical Practice Limited Today marks a significant milestone in my career—two years at Avon Medical Practice Limited. Reflecting on this journey, I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and challenges I’ve encountered. Here are the key lessons I’ve learned along the way: God First: Make God your pillar. Be thankful for every moment, whether good or challenging. Seek His guidance before embarking on any assignment, familiar or not. Trusting in Him has been a constant source of strength for me. Observe and Digest Before Acting: This principle has made my journey smoother. As a leader, it’s crucial not to rush decisions. Take time to think through the potential consequences. It’s perfectly fine to say, "Let me get back to you on this," when you’re uncertain. Taking a moment to reflect doesn’t show weakness but wisdom. Continuous Learning and Wealth of Experience: I have learned immensely from my colleagues, both within my field and in related areas. Brainstorming sessions have often pushed me back to the drawing board, sparking growth and new ideas. The Internal Audit Community of Practice at the Group level has been instrumental in enhancing my knowledge and skills. Lastly, step outside your comfort zone. Success often lies beyond familiar territory. While venturing into the unknown may be daunting at first, it leads to growth and improvement. The journey may start tough, but it can only get better.Idris Oladejo, ACA kolawole Ikuejawa
