#UK: Groupe Qair acquires a majority stake in Northacre Renewable Energy Ltd (NREL). NREL is a company established to deliver the Northacre #EnergyfromWaste facility in Westbury, Wiltshire. Qair aims to provide an outlet for 243,000 tons per year non-recyclable residual fraction of the waste by completing the development of the NREL #EfW project, which will also generate up to 24 megawatts (MW) of sustainable base load electricity in the near future. Following the purchase of the Centre for Horsham Energy Recovery (CHER) project in Horsham in September 2022, this transaction marks Qair’s second acquisition of an Energy from Waste project in the UK. This is not a green project . Do not hide behind green credentials. It’s moving grate incinerator and will pollute our town . Housing less than 500 meters from the site . Children will be affected . Planning has left a very nasty smell ! Was it corrupt ? There is huge local opposition !!!!!!!

1moWiltshire County Council, Westbury Town Council and seven surrounding Parish Councils are united in their opposition to this moving grate polluting industrial incinerator plan, which would be located in prime unpolluted land, the White Horse Vale, English Heritage. The poisonous fall-out will cover a seven mile radius, and when cross winds blow, as they do, from high chimney stacks, over to Bath, a world heritage site, the area will be uninhabitable. The health effects from fall-out are well documented. PM2/5/10 leading to birth defects, Alzheimers, asthma, cancer, dementia, Depression and more. Organic farms, schools and new housing are adjacent to this site in this small rural town where para-gliding is popular and tourism flourishes.This is a disastrous development and a consultation with local residents, councils and our MP has not been facilitated.
