"Non-practicing entities in Europe: an empirical analysis of patent acquisitions at the European Patent Office" by Valerio Sterzi (Université de Bordeaux), Cecilia Maronero, Gianluca Orsatti (Università degli Studi di Torino), Andrea Vezzulli published in Industrial and Corporate Change. We analyze NPEs' patent acquisitions in Europe, a region where patent assertion activities are growing rapidly. We provide new evidence on the heterogeneity of NPEs' business models and patent acquisition strategies, highlighting their different impacts on follow-on innovation.
