🙌 At Guardian Alliance Technologies, we're dedicated to supporting law enforcement agencies as they navigate the evolving recruitment landscape. Recently, we had an insightful conversation with Joe Monroe, Chief of Police at the University of Kentucky, about emerging trends and priorities for 2024. Joe highlighted the vital shift in recruitment strategies: "Historically, we've relied on traditional methods like billboards and job fairs, but these just aren't working anymore. The next generation workforce is looking for jobs online, on social media, and through various apps. We've got to gear our efforts towards these platforms." To adapt, Joe's department partnered with All-Star Talent, creating effective recruiting videos and running targeted Facebook ads. This pivot resulted in applications skyrocketing from about ten per position to over 100. It's clear that leveraging technology and social media data can transform recruitment processes. 👉 Retention is equally crucial. "Pay is important, but the top priority for the next generation is work-life balance," Joe observed. By adopting flexible scheduling and modern management practices, akin to those used at Google, Joe's department has seen significant improvements in retention. Innovative incentives have also made a difference. Joe implemented a recruitment bonus program where officers receive bonuses if their recruits stay for three years. This approach fosters teamwork and enhances retention rates. At Guardian Alliance Technologies, we are committed to transforming law enforcement recruitment by modernizing and streamlining hiring and background investigation processes. "Why use a recruiter when we're getting a huge amount of applications for our advertised roles?" 💥 how time consuming is it to screen all of those CVs? What is the opportunity cost of you being taken away from your "day job" to hire? 💥 what is the calibre of these applications? Remember, only 17% of our placed candidates in 2023 secured the role they applied for online. 💥 who is doing your proactive sourcing? 83% of our placed candidates in 2023 came from proactive work the HOME Recruitment team completed as part of the long-listing process. 💥 candidates are more cautious of making a move in this market - they're not wanting to be the "last one first off". This means the counter-offers or candidates withdrawing through the process is more likely when coming direct.

Underrated recruitment advice: Utilise your candidate database. It’s no secret most recruiters don’t utilise their database enough. Often the perfect candidate is just sitting there waiting for you as you pay to advertise your job on job boards. And how many times have you then received applications from candidates that were already in your database?! That’s why the new WaveTrackR automatically searches your existing CVs and matches them to your job requirements. Before you post the job ad. That means you can find quality candidates, without having to post. Saving you time and job board credits. A distinctly grey day in the Midlands signalling the end of Summer? But what does that ‘back to school’ feeling mean for your recruitment? It can be an ideal opportunity to review your recruitment strategy and see what is and isn’t working. It is fair to say that recruitment is changing and our advice to SMEs is to focus on a fresh approach: https://lnkd.in/eBWMV4p5 That might sound easier said than done. And that’s where working with a recruitment consultancy, over an agency, can add value beyond supplying CVs.
