⛳️ Golf Tip of the Month with Charles Bisignano, Director of Golf, at The Plantation Golf & Country Club located in Fort Myers, FL. 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝘃𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻: So, you step up to the first tee and are ready to blast one down the fairway. You take a mighty swing and smash one right into the woods! The crafty old timer politely smiles and bunts is 196 right down the middle. Frustrated and not completely in awe, you reload and off you go. The expectation is power will overtake the course. 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩𝘴? Sure, it’s really awesome to see that 300-yard drive sail in the air, but the scorecard doesn’t reflect how you got there. Knowing what you can and cannot do, such as playing from the tee best suited to your ability and strategizing will make for a more enjoyable round. You can be good iron player, or have a deft touch short game, better that that, boss of moss on the putting green. Here’s to the game of golf, the way it was meant to be played.

'golf' -play the ball as it lies- this will be my last golf weekend. full transition to "paddle/savage mode" below pic 5 y ago, w brother and best friend. old course, st andrews. golf is like life you take a swing. Great shot, great result. bad shot, bad result AND! the opposite is true...I've had great results from bad shots and it's opposite. regardless, a shot is an outcome. it's what we do w the outcome that matters more than the shot before. let that shit go, radically accept the result, the ball, lies where it is, like life. and like life, it's better to play experience with friends 4 hrs al fresco. there are good rounds. there are bad rounds. there are average rounds. AND, perfect is impossible. life, on lifes terms. i practice golf and life this way. but the deeper practice is accepting the process, and the outcomes become less of a priority. golf is hard. life is hard. golf is awesome. life is awesome and every iteration between.

Perfecting Your Wiggles. This was Bryson Dechambeau at the weekend. Arguably one of golf’s biggest hitters spanking a 5 wood off into the distance after many…..many wiggles. It was a sight to behold. What is interesting is that you don’t have to follow these top golfers for too many holes to realise that not only are there many, many wiggles in the pre swing routine….for each player, their wiggles are identical, seemingly to the nano second every time they step up the to the ball. On the one one hand, what looks like a personal and quirky bit of eccentricity for each player, is actually the accumulation of 1000s of hours of repetition, cultivating of the their own process, which ultimately works and delivers consistent results for each of these top professional golfers. What I also noticed, was that every single one of them had differing pre swing routine, yet the outcomes were pretty similar, a white ball majestically sailing off into the distance above grass so perfect you couldn’t comb it any neater. What you also can’t deny is that Bryson’s swing (the biggest hitter) is the one that looks the most radically different to the rest! I often see a similar thing in business. Every now and then, some one comes along and steps out to try doing things very differently, and gets a much better result💪 So long and we remain outcomes focused, it’s okay if we build our own differing ways of achieving results. In fact, simply trying to replicate others may be limiting. The biggest leaps in progress in anything usually occur when someone is brave enough to step out to try something totally different. So take some risks, develop some different wiggles, what might seem a little far out now my turn out to be the next big thing everyone wants to copy.

Creating meaningful relationships in golf that bring joy to kids, solutions to parents, revenue to our tour, and growth to the game we love.
Trophies and low scores are exciting, but they’re not why our kids fall in love with golf. It’s about the little things—the time spent together, the friendships formed, and the shared laughs after a round. At the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, we strive to create an environment where junior golfers can thrive in competition and fall in love with golf. Here are 3 simple ways to support your junior golfer and help them truly enjoy the game: 1. Celebrate the Journey: Focus on their effort and improvement, not just the end result. Each round is a step in their journey, not just a number on a scorecard. 2. Encourage Independence: Let them set their own goals and make decisions about their game. It’s their passion, and when they lead, their love for the sport grows. 3. Keep It Fun: Mix things up with family golf days or casual rounds. Making the game enjoyable is what keeps them coming back for more. How do you keep the joy in the game for your junior golfer? Share your tips! #ParentingInSports #JuniorGolf #GrowTheGame #HJGT

In February, I set a goal to improve my golf game and shoot a 95 (I may have even revised this to 93). This year, I made a commitment to myself to play more golf than I have in previous years. I really started playing in 2017, and have been gradually increasing the number of rounds I play each year. That first year, I probably played 3 or 4 times. Last year, I was able to get out somewhere between 10-15 times. I have already golfed at least 15 times this year. My game has improved, I'm striking the ball better, and have even improved my putting. I'm still up and down, but my scores are trending in the right direction. I made time for a few lessons along the way. Yesterday, at the Constellation outing held at Tanglewood Golf Course, I shot an 89, breaking 90 for the first time ever. It felt SO good, and I look forward to my next goal - 87. It is a beautiful course, run by amazing people. What did I learn... Consistency and practice trumps raw talent. If you set goals and write them down, you're more likely to achieve them. Golf is HARD, but most things in life that are worth it...a hard. There are always ups-and-downs. Our attitude in the down times is what is most important. Comparing myself to other golfers did nothing to improve my game. The lessons I am learning in my golf journey are so applicable to business, and to what I do every day. Let's get out and play sometime, I'd love it. #golf #philadelphia #lifelessons #businesslessons #goals Irish Creek (thanks for the hat)
