🏗️ National Safety Week: Driving Personal Ownership in Safety 🛠️ Safety is everyone's responsibility. That's why, during National Safety Week, we're starting with a key topic: taking personal ownership. It's not just about following the rules; it's about proactively identifying and addressing risks before they lead to incidents, and about accepting a greater level of responsibility for our safety and the safety of others. At Milender White, when we See Something, we Say Something. Whether it's an unsafe condition or behavior, we act to correct it, report it, or stop work until it is resolved. We encourage our team members to speak up, because every voice matters when it comes to safety. During National Safety Week, let's all take a moment to reflect on how we can strengthen personal safety ownership. Together, we can create a safer industry and ensure that every project is completed without incident. Thank you to everyone at MW for your commitment to safety. Let's continue to lead the way by owning our safety and supporting each other. Stay safe, and let's build a safer tomorrow. #MilenderWhite #NationalSafetyWeek #SafetyFirst #PersonalOwnership #ConstructionSafety

March Open Dialogue: The good, the bad and the ugly of predicting safety performance. In many high-risk industries, this domain of work performance can mean the difference between life or death, not to mention the huge cost-savings that accrue from safer working behaviours. Ensuring safety performance is, however, a complex endeavour and there is no one solution. Nevertheless, understanding individual differences in how people may enact safety behaviours, display safety attitudes and motivate themselves can get us some of the way in predicting safety performance. Yet it is not without its limitations (for more information read our latest Blog: https://lnkd.in/dN79rV8u). In an upcoming session of Open Dialogues (Thursday 28th March), come learn from experienced practitioners in the field and share your insights as we move closer towards better understanding safety performance, mitigating risk and safeguarding lives. Watch this space for more details. Nnana Radebe Lani van der Merwe Pieter de Klerk Jacob de Coning

At Zinfra, safety comes first! That’s why our annual Safety Field Panel is run each year during National Safe Work Month, to help us better understand the challenges and the risks our teams face. This year our panelist discussed the critical risks they face in their day-to-day work, how they identify them and how to avoid injury or grave damage to our business operation. It was an honest and open panel, with people sharing personal stories of injures either experienced or witnessed and a look at the physical and psychological impact they can have. This was our seventh Field Panel and a sobering reminder that when it comes to safety, it is everyone’s business. We know our field members are best placed to tell us what they need to ensure their workplace is safe and our Field Panel is crucial in understanding and hearing them.
