Did you know that the Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Act was first signed into legislation in 1996? 👇 🧠 At that time, it was the only federal legislation that directly demanded TBI prevention, research, and service delivery through grants to states. 🧠There have been several iterations of this act since its origin, and activists are fighting today to have it reauthorized. 🧠The TBI Act matters because 1 in every 60 Americans is living with a permanent brain injury-related disability who would benefit from the services enabled by the act.
