I had the privilege of attending some inspiring conferences at #canneslions. .. by mothering at the same time :) During these uncertain times, it was a breath of fresh air and hope. I'd like to highlight some values and inspirations shared by prestigious CMOs and remarkable speakers. Three values emerged as new standards for our future: Courage: Dare to prioritize empathy and humanity to foster creativity. As Mie-Leng Wong said, "Courage is about building your empathy muscle." Focus on Permanence: Shift your attention from transient changes to what endures and remains constant. This goes beyond equity, emphasizing the meaning and impact of long-term efforts. This idea was brilliantly presented by Katrina Dodd and Impact-Driven Business: Creating impact drives business success. The attention given to your efforts correlates with the intent to purchase when your aim is to create meaningful impact. This was highlighted by "Creativity for Change," a partnership between @AACC Figaro Medias and Kantar (Thanks Françoise HERNAEZ for your invitation)

T minus a few days until I'm heading to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity! This event has become an annual adventure filled with business, creativity, media, and marketing. For the second year in a row, my family is coming along, and I'm super excited to see other executives also bringing their young adult children. It's such a fantastic opportunity for them to see the world through our lens of networking and idea exchange on a global scale. The "Each one teach one" philosophy really shines here. My kids, now high schoolers, learned so much last year as creators, young investors, and curious minds. They attended talks and brand experiences while I was busy working—it was the perfect setup! The Cannes Lions Festival is incredibly significant as it brings together the most creative minds and influential leaders in media and marketing. My goal is to dive deep into the latest trends, make meaningful connections, and bring fresh, innovative ideas back to my work. Balancing work and family during this trip is really important to me; just as it is when I'm at home. A goal of mine in 2024 was to be consistent with my routine and how present I am for my family whether traveling or working from home. While I'll be wrapped up in professional activities, my family will get to explore and soak in the festival's diverse offerings. It's a win-win, creating a memorable and enriching experience for all of us. #CannesLions #WomenInMarketing #MarketingSolutions #BusinessGrowth #BusinessGoals #BrandBuilding #WorkingMom #WomenInMedia #ThePathRedefined

Collective intelligence is all around us – in our communities, at work and in every corner of our planet. ❇ It’s freely available ❇ People want to have a voice in issues that matter to them and ❇ This collective intelligence is easier than ever to access– either face-to-face or digitally So why is it used so infrequently to discover creative and innovative solutions? Perhaps because we are asking the wrong people to answer the questions! A recent McKinsey study noted that “… that organizations that actively listen and act on recommendations from frontline employees are 80 percent more likely than others to consistently implement new and better ways of doing things..” World Café Europe is always experimenting with new ways to foster meaningful conversations about issues that matter to people. Ever since the pandemic, we have been experimenting with novel digital ways – both hybrid and fully virtual – which enable these conversations to happen more frequently and with individuals who have never been asked for their opinions on specific issues ever before. World Café Europe strives to unlock this HIDDEN POTENTIAL. Towards this end, we use CircleLytics Dialogue among other digital apps. But CircleLytics is special. It offers a proven online solution which supports diverse people to share ideas, collaborate and create shared meaning with each other through asynchronous exchanges with each other. Anywhere. Anytime. We used it to successfully help plan a worldwide dialogue Prof. Dr. Henry Mintzberg’s concept the topic of "Rebalancing Society". In a series of pre-event dialogue rounds World Café Europe posed key questions to individuals who planned to participate in our event. Their input not only enabled World Café Europe to shape the character of the dialogue itself, but also enabled individuals to share their ideas with others, interact and build on their ideas before the event even started. What a simple and elegant way to foster engagement among individuals in all kinds of organizations and add collective intelligence to the heart of the work to be successfully undertaken! With over a decade of experimentation combined with skillful facilitation, World Café Europe looks forward to continue our use of this amazing digital experience to jump start creativity and innovation in organizations worldwide. #collectiveintelligence #powerfulquestions #conversationsthatmatter #ideasworthspreading #engagementmatters Maurik Dippel

Connecting, learning, reflecting: #Cannesplans. I feel so lucky to be at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity next week. It’s a glorious oppprtunity to soaking up inspiration and to chat and connect with members of The Marketing Society from around the world who will be there - and to make new friends and learn new perspectives. I”ll be putting some incredible CMOs ‘Under the Spotlight’ on the Rotonde stage on Wednesday and Thursday at 10.30 am - please do join us. —- The Marketing Society are hosting a number of special events. One which I know will be fascinating and fun is ‘The Ritualicious Lunch’ on Wednesday with the fabulous people at MSQ. This is designed to be a chilled out part of the day away from the madness of La Croisette in the beautiful Contagious Villa. There will be excellent food-for-thought in the form of some fascinating research into the role of rituals from MSQ together with WARC. We’ll explore the role of rituals in modern culture, from reducing cognitive overload in the face of a 24-hour rolling news cycle to providing calm, comfort and connection in an increasingly secularised world. I’ll be speaking together with ⭐️Kit Altin, CSO The Gate London , ⭐️ Eleanor Lloyd Malcolm , MD Freemavens, ⭐️ Rebecca Peel, Head of Advisory North America Contagious and ⭐️ Kate Howe Executive Director MSQ. (There will be a whitepaper on this launched on September). A great opportunity for some inspiration and some sparkling conversation with some terrific guests. Can’t wait! #CannesLions2024 #connectionsAndConversations #marketing

🌟 𝙂𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙝 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙞: A Celebration of New Beginnings and Overcoming Obstacles** 🌟 As we celebrate 𝙂𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙝 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙞, the festival honoring Lord Ganesha, I am reminded of the powerful lessons that resonate not only in our personal lives but also in the world of business and IT services. In the IT industry, much like in life, we are constantly faced with challenges—whether it's solving complex technical issues, meeting client demands, or managing evolving technologies. Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, offers valuable insights for professionals across all sectors, especially in IT: 💡𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙢-𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙨𝙚𝙩: Just as Lord Ganesha is known for removing obstacles, in IT, we strive to resolve technical challenges and deliver seamless solutions to our clients.
