Historic Buildings & Places’ Post

Perched above the village of Thorpeness, Suffolk, the House in the Clouds is a whimsical landmark with a fascinating history. Built in 1923 as a water tower to complement the village’s aesthetic, it was transformed into a house in 1979 when the water tank was removed. Its unique design earned it Grade II listed status. The House in the Clouds remains a quirky reminder of how function and creativity can merge to create something truly special. 📷: © Cameraman (cc-by-sa/2.0) #Thorpeness #HouseInTheClouds #Suffolk #HistoricBuildings #QuirkyArchitecture #ThorpenessVillage #Heritage #EverydayHeritage
