This could be a summary of what happened this week at the World Economic Forum in #Davos #wef24 that really captures the current companies’ sentiment. Within the same environment, industry, or region, the rules of the game and circumstances are the same for everyone. However, there are two types of companies: 1️⃣ Companies that view the future very pessimistically, even catastrophically. 2️⃣ Companies that, on the contrary, see the future as full of opportunities everywhere. 1️⃣ In the face of such a changing world, pessimistic companies have a survival mindset, hoping for better times to come. They are not aware that today is the slowest day of the rest of their lives, that the rate of change is lower today than tomorrow, and that the speed at which everything changes is slower today than it will be tomorrow. They are immersed in a #nostalgic_pessimism where things are no longer as they used to be, and changes, if undertaken, occur traumatically with astonishing slowness and enormous effort, according to transformation processes used at the beginning of this century. 2️⃣ On the other hand, other companies see great opportunities in this ecosystem. Through internal transformation processes, they manage to position themselves where customers and the market demand. They are aware that these transformation processes are not easy and that some of them may end in failure, but they approach them with enthusiasm with the goal of developing new products, new services, new ways of working and new ways of interacting with their customers, suppliers, and employees. All these are transformations that lead today's companies to become companies of tomorrow. What kind of messages can pessimistic CEOs convey to their teams? What motivation will those teams have to work? What can be expected from these companies that are defeated themself in advance before jump to the the playing field? What type of companies can we expect significant advances, major transformations, or the most incredible products from?
