Racial animus resulted in exceptions to the Fair Labor Standards Act, including the agricultural exception, which today continues to have disparate impact on minorities. Children as young as 12 can perform arduous agricultural work in a majority of states. This hazardous work exposes children to injury and illness from pesticide exposure, while the long hours make it difficult for children to continue with their education. Bills to remedy this- including the Children's Act for Responsible Employment and Farm Safety and the Children Don’t Belong on Tobacco Farms Act languish in committee. We need to pass this legislation and protect our children from hazardous work. To learn more, listen to Zama Neff, Executive Director, Children's Rights Division at Human Rights Watch, on Gravity, https://lnkd.in/gquAk2Vz, who discussed this issue in 2017 - and it is still a pernicious issue today. It is only getting worse - 16 states have impending bills to weaken their child labor laws. https://lnkd.in/g9A33yij.

⭐️Exciting News! ⭐️ I am pleased to share that my research paper, "An Overview Of Juvenile Delinquency: - Medicolegal Perspective," has been published. This work, co-authored with Nidhi T provides an in-depth analysis of the multifaceted factors contributing to juvenile delinquency and critically evaluates the effectiveness of various preventive measures from a medicolegal perspective. Juvenile delinquency poses significant challenges to the future of our youth and society. Our research underscores the importance of providing essential resources, fostering supportive environments, and leveraging community-based organizations to address these issues comprehensively. I extend my gratitude to all those who have supported this endeavor. We aim for our findings to contribute to ongoing discussions and inspire actionable solutions in the field.
