In Part I, learn about the role of a chaplain and the last hours of some of my most inspiring patients. Next, readers are challenged to continue to mature spiritually until they take their last breath. Those are the qualities I had hoped that all owners and managers of hospice companies would also possess. In Part II, I address how to assess (as closely as possible) the QUALITY of a particular hospice from insider knowledge. Incidentally, the new Hospice Care Index designed by CMS only gives “a picture of care PROCESSES.” Hospice consumers need a more insightful way to assess and compare hospice services. But ultimately, my book is about PEACE, COMFORT, and JOY.
