Data released this week shows that Detroit students are making academic gains from the pandemic but still lag behind their peers in wealthier districts. That's why we're teaming up with Summer Discovery to provide free high-quality summer school programming to students in Detroit. Summer isn't the solution to systematic inequities, but it is a research-proven approach to accelerating student growth. Phase II findings from a Westat and Wallace Foundation report takes a closer look at summer learning in 2021 from the perspective of state and local education agencies (SEA).
