▶️ Senior Executive | Change Agent | Business Leader ▶️ Turnarounds | M&A | Strategic Planning | ▶️ “Transforming Organizations Into Client-Centric, Solution-Selling Cultures”
My name is Laura Lynn Morrissey. At 59, with a robust career spanning decades in both financial services and healthcare, culminating in the successful sale of my own healthcare company, I thought finding a new leadership role would be straightforward. I had this unique set of skills - a blend of financial services and healthcare and a robust LinkedIn network - I am going to nail my reentry thing! But the journey that unfolded wasn’t the one I expected. Despite my deep experience, passion, and readiness to contribute at a high level, my applications were met with a surprising and consistent response: rejection. I was surprised at first, (what the floof!) saddened as it continued, and finally, I became determined. This was a new challenge for me—I had never struggled to attract job offers before. But here I was, feeling invisible, sidelined by an age bias I hadn’t anticipated. That’s when I decided it was time for change—not just for me but for all seasoned professionals facing similar barriers. I founded SilverSavvy, a platform dedicated to valuing the rich experience and wisdom that comes with age. SilverSavvy isn’t just a company; it’s a statement. We’re here to shift the dialogue on aging in the workforce, proving every day that experience isn’t just about years lived but about lessons learned and shared. We need to talk about age diversity in the workplace. Why are experienced professionals overlooked because of the number of candles on their birthday cake? I know I am not alone. If you’ve felt undervalued or faced rejection due to your age, I want to hear your story. Join me in this conversation. Let’s dismantle these barriers together and build a workforce that truly values diversity in all its forms, including age. www.silversavvy.com. #AgeIsAnAsset #SilverSavvy #CareerJourney #DiversityAndInclusion #NewBeginnings

Since the early days at Squint, we’ve leaned on customers to help us identify the most impactful problems that need to be solved. This week I was on the road meeting some of our newest manufacturing customers. Here are some of the top themes I heard: 1. The shop floor is a melting pot! Employees come from all over the world and communicate best in many different languages. Technology in 2024 must be able to communicate in all these languages. 2. Retirement is leading to tribal knowledge walking out the door. One customer shared that over the last few months, their average tenure of employees shrank from 15 years to 13 years. Manufacturers across the US are anticipating a rapid decline in workforce tenure. 3. Continuous improvement continues to be a cornerstone of the best manufacturing cultures. Our customers want employees to have opinions and drive improvement. Products that capture feedback and product insights are critical to empower the workforce. This is an inflection point for manufacturers – those that fail to adopt technology will be outpaced by their peers. I’m so excited for Squint to continue to be a part of this transformation in manufacturing, and excited to share more learnings along the way!

invite you to join me in a fireside chat I am hosting with two of my best friends and colleagues, Erica Colonero and Robin Pedrelli, at VisionSpring, Inc. on October 25 @1:00 PM ET. Topic: The Real Risk of Dialing Back on DEI: How to Maintain Momentum and Focus Register Here: https://lnkd.in/dP8AtZx7 During this session, we will: 1. Discuss the current state of DEI and why there are other answers than dialing back. 2. Explore solutions for overcoming pushback and resistance. 3. Uncover opportunities to build community and collaboration. 4. Tour the Inclusion Learning Loop, where we share tools and resources to stretch limited DEI budgets, maintain momentum, and maximize impact. I have known Erica and Robin for over 20 years, and they share my passion and commitment to creating a more equitable world where everyone has an equal opportunity to grow, contribute, and succeed. I look forward to talking with you about the current state of #DEI and #strategies for managing pushback and maintaining momentum. #letsdefygravity #hrexecutives

Co-Founder of Chezie | Forbes 30u30 | Building an equitable startup in public and sharing learnings along the way
There's a lot of smoke and mirrors in the world of corporate DEI - plenty of companies do it to check a box. If there's one thing I can tell in our ~3 months working with Roshan K. and Carmel U. and PagerDuty is that they are for real. Inclusion is genuinely part of how the company operates. Here are some of the things that I've noticed while working with the PagerDuty team: 1. Carmel is always talking about the potential of her ERGs to work with various PagerDuty business units to drive both people outcomes like retention but also broader business value through partnerships with product, sales, and other departments. 2. There's a strategy behind everything. Every event, communication, or expense is tied to either a goal. They avoid fluffy or generic ERG programming. 3. They're genuinely open to supporting the broader DEI community. A lot of the best practices around DEI are tightly-held, but as a member of our Product Advisory Board, Carmel has been very open about sharing things that have worked and not worked for her ERGs with the rest of our community. Grateful for customers that are willing to be partners. Much more to come! P.S. - you can hear Roshan speak at our upcoming ERG Summit on October 5! Link in the comments 👇🏾
How do you show up? Are you on time, dragging in or before time with a mindset that is ready to get things done? Do you operate above the line or below the line? Are you optimistic about the future or still on the fence regarding the impact that the macroeconomy is having on everything?! Today, as I logged into our new Employee Resource Group platform, Chezie, I heard the voice of Carmel U.. Carmel has partnered with Chezie to supercharge our ERG offering by operationalizing how we drive and scale the impact we deliver to PagerDuty employees "Dutonians", our customers, communities and stakeholders. As a leader, I’m so proud of all that our team has accomplished as we work together to create a more equitable organization. Carmel is consistently willing to explore the possibilities of my vision while infusing my strategy with her insights and expertise as to what is possible. THANK YOU for helping me make a difference at PagerDuty.

And just like that... My first half a year at Bluecrux flew by! As I channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw, I can't help but wonder: what have I learned from this amazing journey? Here are my three key takeaways: 1) Trust and Utilize Your Team "You are in this team for a reason." In moments of uncertainty, I leaned on the wisdom of more experienced colleagues. Trusting their judgment not only tackled the problem at hand but also taught me their thought processes and decision-making skills, sometimes even turning an issue into an opportunity! This collective intelligence is our true strength. 2) Respect Breeds Growth "If you feel respected and valued, you’ll bloom." Bluecrux fosters an environment where every question is welcomed, no matter how 'silly' it may seem. This respect and openness encouraged me to seek new angles and, at the very least, acquire new knowledge. 3) Walk a Mile in Someone Else's Shoes Helping out in a completely different role showed me firsthand the challenges my colleagues face. It’s a humbling experience that deepened my appreciation for the diversity of talents working together to make Binocs fabulous! #Respect #Growth #LearningJourney #JustLikeThat
